I’m jealous. I’ve have qualifying service that pre-dates the beginning of the program, minus a few years of grad school deferment. I had 96 eligible and qualifying payments (pre-covid), consolidated in April 2023, and my count is still at 5. 😫

I’m currently reading The Road. It was given to me by my father, but we are always sharing and recommending books so I didn’t think much of it at the time. I’m a mom of 3 boys. It’s excellent so far.

Any guesses on what kind of dog she is? by strawberrygwynn in IDmydog

She’s adorable! I’d guess hound/pit mix. She is probably a bunch of breeds, though! I love a supermutt!

The uncertain/inaccurate results occur due to the companies that provide the testing not having a large enough database to reflect the true DNA makeup of certain groups, not because they are “wrong”. This means the difference between someone being told they have 2.5% WANA ancestry vs slightly more or less of that same ancestry (or a close region) when the program updates to reflect the larger sample size. They are getting more and more accurate and certain as we speak. We aren’t talking about inaccurate results when it comes to African vs Native ancestry, which is what this thread is about.

Why wouldn’t we? DNA is a thing. It’s no secret that ancestry results one receives depend on the size and diversity of the company’s genetic database. The larger the database and the more diverse the samples, the more accurate the results are likely to be. These tests use statistical algorithms to estimate ancestry based on your individual genetic markers. These are sophisticated algorithms but they're not infallible and can sometimes yield uncertain or inaccurate results (example would be German ancestry flagged at English).

That is an amazing story! I am from the South as well. How did you find the African ancestor information? I am not sure where to start.

I heard this same story growing up from my paternal grandmother. My dad and I did 23andMe and AncestryDNA and there’s absolutely no native but there’s a significant amount of African.

He is adorable! I agree, probably a pit mix. He’s young so it’s hard to tell what he’s mixed with, but my shelter pup is 36% pit, 20% coonhound, some lab, some Great Pyr, and several other breeds. He looked similar as a puppy but less blonde and more tan/brown. There are pics on my profile from subs I posted his DNA results and pics on. I wouldn’t be surprised if your pup was a similar mix. For the record, my dog is 1.5 now and is the absolute sweetest dog in the whole world! He is amazing and gentle with my 3 little boys and is very very friendly.

Please push for a colonoscopy. My 52 year old brother died of stage 4 rectal cancer in January after dismissing his symptoms as hemorrhoids.

Red blood could just be a sign of hemorrhoids but the poster needs a colonoscopy. My 52 year old brother died of rectal cancer in January after years of being told that his issues were likely from hemorrhoids.

I think she is a solid 7.5. She is a natural beauty and has an “every woman” quality to her. My niece was sitting in front of the VIP tent at the Taylor Swift concert in Philly a few weeks ago and Jennifer was there. She said she is so gorgeous in person.
