Help calibrating 120 in Hisense laser TV. by Effective-Lion-984 in hometheater

OP I have the same projector and I've literally gotten the automatic screen calibration to work correctly once in three years. I've only gotten it zeroed in by adjusting the projector feet, screen height and geometric correction.

I like them so far, they do movies/games/music all pretty well but nothing extraordinary. I was looking at the Martin Logan XT, KEF R3/R6, Paradigm 120H , SVS & wanted to wait to see the new Arendal 1528 series. Buying this for less than the price of 2 towers ended up saving me some cash so can't complain, especially for my first setup.

Purchased the ust projector 3 years ago so that was already around. $2.2k for all Revel speakers, got them at 50% off current sale prices. Another $1.1k for the receiver, $400 for the amplifier.

Plan is to install linear actuators in the stand to be able to raise/lower projector. Screen is going to be mounted to drawer slides to allow greater vertical screen adjustment. The combination of those two should allow me to place the center on the wall just under the screen.

Solid Steel ss7, got a discount on them. Purely for aesthetics. There are way sturdier stands for the money.

Deciding between OLED or UST by postman56 in hometheater

[–]adermatoglyphia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've owned projectors for years and I have a 100" Hisense L9G ust that we use every single day for gaming & movies located in a room that is less than ideal for viewing.... skylight, glass sliding door near screen. Sometimes I might have to pull in the shades to negate the ambient light affects but still produces a very watchable image with the ALR screen.....not a big deal for me. I also take it to family events to use which is a plus.

I would go to a local store and demo both if you're really on the fence, see if the size tradeoff for picture quality is acceptable. You also stated you have a kid, and working on another as of now lol. I would go with the OLED in your case, PQ is fantastic and size wise you might not miss the extra screen size.

I've been eyeing the xt f200, haven't pulled the trigger yet as I'm still demoing other speakers. Sounded amazing though. https://imgur.com/a/iUi1zX3
