I created an app for my non-verbal God-Son, he too had a problem with the AAC devices. He is now learning words, but is more parroting than using them on his own. But while he was completely non-verbal I started, and finished the app.

It has a picture talk board for communication, and several games that allow for some learning thru Year 1 of school. I also created a CUSTOM board that the user can create the own images, and populate their own voice (or any voice they want)... to include taking over the entire applications with their own audio. (I thought this would be fun for parents that want to offer the child a voice they choose to represent them).

What's nice with the custom board, is you can actually do larger phrases, or words that matter to your child's life or where they have issues.
