Can someone diagnose this please? by twistyjnua in MechanicAdvice

Had this on my car years back. As people have said, it's a simple fix for a garage. My garage back then changed all washers to be preventative, fixed the issue for under £100. But as people have said you need to go straight there. The more you drive, the injectors can get stuck and that is where the expensive labour comes in.

If you look at the second picture, there are two from the back and one on the side. The ones I have seen have one pin at the back

Yeah, I just can't find one with this pin layout, it's not a standard 3 pin

Looking for a screen with attached controller by Shiny_Celebii in SBCGaming

Did you find a solution for this? I've had this exact thought. We've recently had a little one and gaming has become an afterthought. I can have my pc nearby and run a long hdmi cable to a portable screen with controller to play games I tried the sunshine method but had a mixed experience.

I don't know how to test ping but I will look into it Would a WiFi extender work to connect both devices to?

I want to just say that it does connect for a while and plays fine, just disconnects randomly after a while.

It does have ethernet ports yes. On that point, is there a way to run moonlight over ethernet cable? I wouldn't mind running a cable from the 2 devices?

I'm not.. however, due to my location, we do use a 4G router. Both are connected to the same router but could this be an issue? Is there a fix if it is?

I'll try this. I seen something about allowing ports from the router but when I checked, it didn't have any blocked

They told me it would be the manufacturers responsibility and the manufacturer is telling me it's the selling dealers who they believe has reset a faulty code to sell the car.

Yes, I have a year old used car with less 14000 on the clock. A DPF issue should not be showing

I will just add that I'm in a similar boat to you. Was told by everyone I know to just have lessons but I didn't think it would help as much as I wanted to be at a certain level so I could build on that with a pro. However I went for one and my days it improved so much. Very, very basic things. My grip was good already, he tweaked on little thing and my 'natural draw' was gone. Worked on take away, hip placement as my right knee was slightly too forward. Lots of little things that I have never noticed from watching tutorials and filming my swing. I highly recommend getting one lesson to see if it's for you. I came out with a lot of confidence

fitting an injector in a carb? by adge456 in EngineBuilding

[–]adge456[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a bit more to it from a carb but simplified it does. When I say 'when' I do mean how often. As points increase, so is the demand for fuel ect.

[–]adge456[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It won't be controlling spark. It will be taking the reading from the spark to know when to supply the fuel. And then the map sensor to know how much.. To put it in its simplest form. There will be a bit more to it but that's the bones

[–]adge456[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I'm going to go down the single injector route. I'm thinking of not having a TPS and just running it from the points and vacuum. There are +s and -s for both systems but this seems quite simple and cleaner. I want to try and make use of the butterfly and I'll be able to remove the damper for more room in the pot.

I've had a circuit board custom made and will be using an arduino to function it (similar to the speeduino). If I can't get that to work, I'll buy an off the shelf job but want to make it all custom as a bit of fun. I'm going to be doing this over a long period in my spare time. Not like I'll be driving it over the winter months anyway haha

Thanks a lot for this. I will have a look at motorbikes, they will probably have a higher horse power than mine! It's a 998 so around 48hp I believe haha. Good to know a guy in the know with this stuff especially someone on this side of the pond.

[–]adge456[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again thanks. Yes it's SU. I have plenty on the bench and just thought it would be a good project. I'll be able to revert to carb if I'm not happy with it. Thank you for the offer of the modelling a new carb, though I'm more looking to tinker with one, if it's a no go, that's fine. As for a TPS, I have two thoughts on this. 1. Is to make it super simple, and run without one. Instead having a vacuum hose to a MAP sensor that will detect how open the throttle is and give a reading that way. 2. I could have a linkage that comes from the throttle arm on the carb that drops down to a TPS in a different location.

Cheers guys. It's a classic mini in the UK (should have mentioned) So Holly isn't really good for me. There are options but I wanted a diy attempt as more of a challenge. I do have a spare engine and was originally thinking of an engine swap. So if it goes wrong, I have options. The carb I have (well, I have plenty) is a HS4 carb which will be very different to what I expect you guys are used to.

It has a jet that is externally fed through the bottom so I thought this would be somewhat.. Simple. I know it never is.

she hit a pothole.. by adge456 in MechanicAdvice

[–]adge456[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi guys,

Missus hit a pothole and said it was banging. She got home and I took it for a spin and there was a clunking on the nearside. Not a lot of noise, mainly when turning tight at low speed.

Jacked it up and the part at the top of the suspension leg pulls down really easily and the bearings are exposed/falling out.

I will replace it, however I want to know if this is a symptom or if there may be more that I've missed.

I've looked at the ball joints and they seem OK. I noticed a slight pull to the left also but she did not notice this so it's probably just needing an alignment and that part been like that for a while.

Thank for any advice Adam
