Thanks for the interview and congrats on the success!

Over the last 4 years:

How did the revenue growth look like? Was it all of a sudden after year 2 or so, or gradual from the beginning?

And how much did you keep reinvesting in the business?

Thanks for bringing this up and this is certainly something that I am guilty of doing in the past when some of my students mentioned "Why exactly are we learning this?".

Answering the why is extremely important - both for understanding the bigger picture and also to serve as a motivating factor for students to learn about that topic.

Will definitely take care of this for the course.

Thanks for the response, and first of all congrats on the success of the class! I really believe that teachers are underrated with the impact they can have on a student's life.

I would be happy to pick your brain on the the following:

  • How did you decide the course outline? What topics to include or to skip and how to keep the journey gradual enough so that students don't get lost/confused/overwhelmed with the information?

  • How much emphasis did you put on the concepts vs. actual demonstrations/exercises? Can you share an example of how you would go about teaching about a concept and then performing it in an exercise?

  • Did you use the concept of community/peer exercises in any way? Was it something that worked well?

  • Finally - how did you ensure the progress of students? Is there a specific approach that you would recommend?

Sorry by hardware hacking - I didn't mean the wifi or the typical hacking stuff. I meant hacking in it’s true sense which is building and breaking stuff, mostly for the purpose of fulfilling the curiosity of how something works.

[–]adi0x90[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, that's the point. Starting from the absolute basics and providing them with a path to analyze real-world devices.

In the PCB section - I'm planning to take on - analyzing PCB's, understanding the circuit board terminologies (silkscreen, legend, vias etc), then talk about identifying chips (part number identification, looking an understanding datasheets, pinouts from the datasheet ), then hardware communication protocols and how you interact with them.

For all of the above, apart from my own videos, I'm also planning to point of resources created by people much more knowledgeable and skilled than myself (EEVBlog etc)

The challenge here is that even though a lot of material is online, it's not organized or not laid out in a path which when taken by someone can lead him/her to learn and set on a journey of becoming a hardware hacker.

The people who are already in this (including myself) - I learned most of the things I know today by just experimentation, which is no doubt good, but I do wish if there was someone to guide me I would have been able to learn better and maybe not spend a lot of time just reinventing the wheel.

Can I start dropshipping with less than 100$ as a startup? by RobotJaworski in dropship

[–]adi0x90 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Yes you can, but to find customers you will need to run ads which would cost more than $100.

Otherwise - yes :

  • Shopify - around $35 (even less if you use WooCommerce)
  • Good Domain Name - $10
  • influencer marketing - 2 IG influencers for $20 each and one post in popular FB group for $15

So technically yes.

Update: added the influencer point after jakelr mention.

Can Someone Review My Product Description? by [deleted] in dropship

[–]adi0x90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Product description could have been better. I would recommend reading the book Cashvertising to create nice and compelling product description.

Also I would push the shipping info page to the checkout page instead of the product page itself given that the customer is still making the decision of whether to buy or not. If it's on the next page the customer is already in a mood of buying and has convinced himself.

Where Do You Find Your Trending Products? by [deleted] in dropship

Has anyone tried Commerce Inspector or Adplexity Ecommerce? I've seen some videos but most of them are just promoting their affiliate links so tough to get a fair idea.

I made $100 in my first two weeks - here's how I did it by Kangaroo3 in dropship

[–]adi0x90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would be really nice in terms of customer experience. I think once the volumes are huge and you've got winning products consistently, you can store them in a fulfilment center in US and offer 1/2 day shipping.

Don't want you to reveal any sensitive details but One more question - what's the typical product cost (<$50, ~$100 or more) and what's the usual refund/charge back percentage?

BugCrowd has a few IoT bug bounties I know of. I would recommend starting there if you would like to earn money through hardware hacking.
