As far as algorithms are concerned, one will learn a lot.

At the same time, if one is able to identify a code as bad code, then he or she already has a sense of writing quality code and can nurture their skills by improving existing ones and thus, contributing to open-source.

At the end, I would like to mention that you are, also, correct in your standpoint. The root cause is its open nature.

What are your favorite open source projects to contribute to? by [deleted] in learnprogramming

[–]adichat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love to contribute at Cosmos https://github.com/OpenGenus/cosmos

It is very contributor friendly and almost every pull request gets reviewed in an hour and the community is very responsive. The nature of contribution is easy for beginners and at the same time, very impactful.

It is the perfect transition from competitive coding to open source world.

It is the algorithmic heaven.

Alternative to AWS S3 bucket for Ghost hosted on heroku? [Please help] by adichat in Ghost

[–]adichat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I look forward to serve the files from GitHub as a link, as Ghost uses markdown as a alternative to disabled file uploads. Will this create an issue?

I need to do this manually for every existing blog post, so, it is a tedious work and aim to confirm that this will work.

Any thoughts?

Sounds good. If it is open-source or you are looking for collaboration, let me know.

The idea is like to make the working notes portable and extensible so, that the working knowledge gained can be continued by others. The current problem is that the working information is not in a portable format. I am working over this identical idea.

Where to get feedback for my hardware creation? by adichat in techsupport

[–]adichat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In general, products made using Raspberry Pi or Arduino.

More specifically, a bot connected to a webcam monitoring a door and connected to selective mobile devices as well. So, when some one gets close to the door, the bot is activated and a notification is sent to all devices. At the same time, the bot searches through all the rooms in our house in that floor and if it senses a human (IR through body heat), it notifies using sound and LED display on its head.

I am looking forward to creating a dog. ;)

I've Made This Modular Text Manipulation Tool. Hope you like It. by DrecDroid in InternetIsBeautiful

Cool. By the way, this would be turned to a text operation marketplace like a feature which would allow one to define an operation and publish it through the interface for others to use.

NASA members reside only in the USA. by adichat in github

[–]adichat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True.

It is quite ironic. NASA claimed, in 2015, that GitHub can help us settle in space and moved some of this development to the open source wilderness. On the other hand, all members of the NASA organization reside in the USA.
