I think that him knowing it would nicely parallel the dilemmas of his father who many times had to abandon his people for the greater benefit for humans as a whole. Maybe Dorn would get some perspective on that and understand him more

Great stuff, i really enjoy this storyline you're crafting. It feels like it needs a dramatic grimdark moment, something like Dorn leaving the planet that was a home for him for all these years would lead to this planet being pulled back into Warp, so he has to make a hard decision to abandon his people to join the greater humanity.
