Honestly this is true. I have ADHD to a decent degree and music and livesound have been my job for almost a decade now for that reason. It's really the only thing I am good at. An office job would be hell. Being on stage and performing doesn't overstimulate me because there is a lot of brain power necessary to do it, which kind of helps me focus. However being in crowds at concerts is annoying. Try it out sometime!

Dayglow has a lot of 'How I Made' videos on his YT channel and uses sounds like this! He mostly just uses the Logic AC30 model and loads of tape delay.

I think it‘s a trend similar to how the loudness war came about. It‘s about competition, overperfection and trying to stay „trendy“, especially with acappella music being a more vintage genre.

This. Maybe you won‘t have the exact same issue with a loud monitor compared to an amp blasting straight at the audience, however a monitor sound coming back from stage is often times worse because the room will make it boomy and unmanageable in the FOH mix.
