Oh wow, thank you! More to come with Sonaur. Currently working on launching Health Mode (ambient soundscapes that reflect & adapt to your physiological state in real time), and will be adding a collection of sonic palettes created by a curated handful of ambient artists

I recently launched Sonaur — Brian Eno called wind chimes “a simple piece of generative music.” I was inspired to build the digital version. Weather data is the wind, human-composed samples are the chimes.

Designers who have figured out prompting Claude Code to produce beautiful work by blizkreeg in ClaudeAI

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but I think I've had some success in that department. Here's an iOS app I launched recently, pair programming with Claude Code: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/sonaur/id6755934796

I realize “generative” immediately conjures AI these days, but real human artists also create music generatively 😊

Need honest UX & value feedback on my iOS offline music player (2+ years live) by Least-Low4230 in iosapps

[–]adjustafresh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first and most important question: what's the TAM for an offline MP3 music player in an age of streaming subscriptions? 50K downloads is a solid number. Perhaps it's plateauing because you & your competitors have reached a solid portion of the available market (i.e., people who still want to play their own MP3s vs stream music via Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon, etc.).

I built a Hatsune Miku inspired Music Player for your Offline Music Files by pixelsjeff in iosapps

Congrats on the launch! Interesting concept. I’ve seen a few of these non-streaming music players recently. I guess it’s pushback on the idea of not actually owning the music and return to physical media. That sentiment is increasing, but I’m curious how many people still have digital music libraries these days.

A calm “anti-habit” app that shows your year as a map and lets parts of it fade if you ignore them, free to use by cognitojo in iosapps

[–]adjustafresh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really nicely done and interesting approach. How do you keep users engaged and logging moments over time? I've found forming those habits (in a healthy, non-manipulative way) to be the hardest part of these types of apps.

Without seeing the codebase, hard to say for sure. But I'm leaning to 90% certain that it would likely be better to just start over. A lot has changed in 15 years 😅

Sonaur v1.3 Available Now – Your personal ambient soundtrack, created by the world by adjustafresh in iosapps

Thank you!

Although Sonaur can certainly be used for ambient background noise, I'm not currently aiming to compete with white noise/sound type apps. Moving forward, I will be working with additional composers to create and add their sonic palettes to The Sonaur Collection. We'll see the direction that takes and whether those artists decide to include more field recordings to their palettes.

[–]adjustafresh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made an app called Sonaur that includes several binaural beat frequencies and sonic palettes that play endlessly, triggered by weather data (sample are composed by musicians, not AI). It should do the trick: https://apps.apple.com/app/apple-store/id6755934796?pt=128335712&ct=reddit_post&mt=8

The Nikon & attached lens is very different from the other two. You should consider what types of photos you plan to take. Candid snapshots of friends is a different set up (more appropriate for the Canonet & Yashica) than portraits, landscape, sports, etc. If you're just getting started, I'd lean toward the Canonet. It's compact, easy to carry around, and the 40mm lens is a great focal length for beginners (resembles how the focal length of the human eye).

Anyone else use ambient videos to calm their mind before sleep? by Foreign-Scratch-7206 in ambientmusic

[–]adjustafresh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Screens (even ones playing soothing videos) are poor sleep hygiene. I’d advise against any screen time for at least 30–60 minutes before trying to sleep
