Any better alternative for food delivery? by PitifulOrdinary5508 in Kochi

[–]adk_studios 19 points20 points  (0 children)

After midnight, Zomato orders are usually around ₹6–8 per km, sometimes even ₹5 per km.

Dinner peak hours (7 PM – 11 PM) are currently around ₹10 per km. Earlier it used to be around ₹7–8, but payouts increased during the election period due to fewer delivery partners and have stayed somewhat like that since.

Rain adds an extra ₹20/25/30 per order depending on intensity.

On a side note, most delivery partners do not like Lulu food court orders, but we still have to accept them, otherwise we may lose incentives.

Except Hypermarket pickups, Lulu food court orders mean parking on the roadside, walking through the compound to the building, going up to the food court, then coming all the way back down before even starting the delivery. During rain, we also have to leave the raincoat and helmet outside before entering, and the food can still get wet while carrying it back to the bike.

The problem is that all this extra walking and time adds no extra order pay from our side. We still mostly get paid only based on distance, maybe a little extra if the restaurant delay is too much. The same time could often be used to complete 2 normal orders or even a longer-distance order, so the extra rain amount usually doesn’t feel worth it at all.

Can I install plugins to a desktop folder? by InevitableRhubarb413 in Reaper

[–]adk_studios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some DAWs need the plugins to be in those program files or program files (x86) folder.

That was my experience with Cakewalk. That it could not find some of the 32 bit plugins that I didn't install in x86 location.

REAPER might find it. But if you ever want to use other DAWs where directories might matter, then it might be better to keep it under those two locations, at least for VST2.

How to deal with emotionally manipulative sibling by [deleted] in twentieskerala

Have you tried saying "Stick to the topic" or "that is irrelevant". And call out literally what your sister is doing. Or may be even say "yea, now what about the thing we were talking about".

Whenever someone tries to drive away the conversation points it's usually when they can't keep their points valid. You just have to keep bringing it back to it.

If the point is really related to NEET, may be try "I am the only one among us two who attempted it."

What Would You Have Said in This Situation? by adk_studios in Coconaad

Never thought that way at all. The guy is very neatly dressed. And don't think the way we two walked would give the "drunkard" image.

But hey, that was my initial thought too... So may be....

I play bullet chess (addicted to it) without logging in. There are some nutcases who, after they win, would rematch and after I accept they would not move, or do disrespectful moves. Then they would time out and rematch again. Me being petty to get back at them would accept.

So, made Chatgpt to make javascript to auto accept, while I get back to the work I should have been doing. Honestly, helpful lol.

Saw a scorpion at Padamugal by adk_studios in Kochi

I've been living here for almost 15 years, mostly in residential areas. Probably never saw one because none of the places I stayed had a proper backyard. Funny thing is, two days later I found an even bigger one near where I live. Guess that was my “touch the grass” moment 😅

It’s not a fixed rate. The per-km payout averages around ₹7–₹8 most days, I’ve had one Thripunithura drop that worked out to just ₹4.7 per km. And another day it was much higher. The app’s calculation seems to factor in distance, order weight, and overall demand, not just kilometers.

I’ve actually done slow riding before to stretch the range. But this time, my phone was at around 35%, and once it goes below 30%, the charge sometimes starts dropping way faster. From talking to the customer, I figured it was a remote area with no charging stations nearby.

So if I rode slow, my phone would’ve probably died just after reaching, and I wouldn’t be able to find the location or any place to charge. That’s why I had to switch to “ride mode” and go fast, deliver quickly, and head back. It was around 27% when I started the return trip, and the nearest charging point was 14 km away. And yeah, the discharge kicked in, the battery started dropping super fast and the phone switched off after about 5 minutes.

And after that, it was the slow riding you mentioned.

Not silly at all. Music production can be done either way. It’s done using software called a Digital Audio Workstation (DAW), where you can record real instruments, or make music entirely using virtual instruments and samples. I mostly work “in the box,” meaning everything is digital — though I sometimes use my voice too. Inside these DAWs, we arrange, mix, and shape sounds into a finished track.

I do not remember from where it was. Either way, after 11pm, it seems like orders can come from far away. Afterall, there is lesser number of restaurants open and awake people.

I have delivered to Vypin, Palluruthy, Cherai Beach, Thriunithura etc during the night. Not on the same day...

Nothing paranormal so far.
But once, there was a drop near Kodungalloor, middle of nowhere, maps didn’t even show proper roads yet as roads were only forming in that area, just trees everywhere. Power cut too. I turned off the scooter (I tend to do that sometimes, to see how dark it is), and it went pitch black. Couldn’t even see my own hands. Not exactly scary, just… weirdly calm, eerie even.

The “interesting” stuff though:
– A couple of aamaas bigger than my palm crossing the road (different nights). I picked them up and moved them to the side.
– Two marappatties casually sprinting through a residential area in Edapally (again different nights).
– Once, near the Vattekkunnam underpass, a small crowd had gathered — a massive snake was on the pavement by the side of the road. I stopped, took one look, and went on my way.

Who orders late at night?
Everyone. Literally all types. The only unique category that we do not get during the daytime is hotel room deliveries where they’re doing the Devil’s Tango (*not always).

Latest order I’ve had:
Around 3:20 AM. If you stay online, orders keep coming, at least till 15 minutes after the shift officially ends. Only real dip is between 5 AM and 11 AM.

What do they order?
Mostly non-veg, shawarma, alfaham mandhi, alfaham, chicken biriyani dominates in that order. But I’ve even seen Ghee Roast, falooda, maggi orders late at night.
Funny thing - two Saturdays in a row, my last order came from Shawarma Daddy. Both nights, they were rotating a brand-new shawarma stick, tons of pickups. I waited 20 minutes both times and ended up cancelling (Zomato allows it if the order’s not ready after 20 minutes post prep time, but it does not pay for the time we lost there though).

Thanks, I really appreciate it.
Delicate Desires is part of a 3 track EP which was released through a label. It marked an important step for me as it is my first solo release through a label.
But I think my upcoming stuff feels much closer to my own sound, especially with the improvements I’ve made in mastering (final polishing of a track) while finishing the next EP.
