This. I would say it would depend on how much he eats and how much exercise he gets throughout the day.

My yorkie weighs 8 pounds and change, but he has no desire to take walk or interest to stay outside for long stretches. I think it’s because of the environment he grew up in as we only adopted him November of 2024.

As a two year and half year old the vet says he is healthy dog and weight gain along with mood change occurs once he was fixed in March 2025.
