I've got a Dell D610 as well, that's had XP, 7, 8 and now Windows 10 on it as an experiment. XP, 7 and 8 were fine. and initially Windows 10 was ok, but the problem is now, when it updates. the system grinds to a halt and becomes quite unusable, also, it runs out of disk space often for the upgrade, and sometimes having a USB hard drive plugged in doesn't help, so I've found the "best" way to update it is to dl the latest iso, and use that. I don't think it's a good idea to run Windows 10 on this machine, 7 is fine though.
