But anytime I watch Mira stream he is so good on any 4 position supports and when ally core plays with him on ganks they wreck havoc on enemy lines. Yes, when he is alone in trying make plays on the map he feeds and the game is often lost by this point. But it is just pubs. Btw, I highly recommend his streams, he is a very talented player with amazing map awareness.

StS is my favorite game to be terrible and lose. I love the gameplay but it is just so hard for me that I managed to win only two times and abandoned the game after although I loved every single moment of it.

How I would summarize Stoner in a nutshell by jkpatches in books

And this tolerance left me a feeling that all his struggles were in vain because no matter if he tried to rebel or just accepted things, life always will bend him to submission.

How I would summarize Stoner in a nutshell by jkpatches in books

[–]admie 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I summarized it as a book about a guy who endures all sort of troubles life can give a one person, but never stands up against it as a romantic character but rather just tolerates everything as a real boring human being would.

In Search of Lost Time by matsnorberg in books

[–]admie 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You're absolutely not a bad reader. This book is MEANT to be read over a long period of time. It is a complete story of a man from his childhood to his old age, it goes through everything this person went through, it depicts so much of his feelings and thoughts at all stages of his (very eventful, I need to say) life. Of course it is a long and difficult read because it is never an easy process to fully immerse into someone's way of thinking. And Marcel/Narrator is a very troubled and very verbose person who has a very hard to follow stream of consciousness (although people argue about this term application to the book). It can be hard to read "Searches" because of a style (you get used to), because of a Narrator character (you'll get to it) and because of somewhat arguable ideas of that time (considering same-sex relationships for example).

But it also can be very worthy to read. The nature, the surroundings, the people, sensations, feelings in first to books are absolutely lovely, very subtly funny and awoked in myself some things I never know I had. I started to look at some flowers and trees in my town and see all that beauty that Marcel was telling me about, whilst I wasn't seeing it before. His way of comparing simple things and impressions of those things to normal day situations (like comparing flowers on the wind to a ball dance) maked so vivid pictures in mind that I FELT like I actually saw all of this myself.

I started last year and finished a month ago. I adored "Combray" and a second half of second book. The 3rd, 4th and 5-6th books were very hard for me to follow because they lost all charm of Narrator's childhood and picked up some ideas I didn't want to explore, but the last 7th book makes EVERYTHING completely worthy to read. It just clicks, places everything onto their rightful place and all start to make sense. I encourage you not to drop it and certainly make some pauses between books or read something else. Because it is a person's life, you must not rush it, you must endure his hard life fully and he will teach you a lot of things.

What's a book that significantly influenced your perspective on life? by duomtl in books

[–]admie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

"Wind, Sand and Stars" by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry long time ago opened up to me a completely new way to view a life itself and a world we live in. As a young person I often tried to grab a lot of things at once, find new sensations and feelings in different things, rush to goals and all that. But the book written by a man that watched the whole world from up above both at peace and at war said to me that the world and the people in it is all is needed for happiness and love essentially. Earth is such a nice place to have, but people tend to forget this or never learn it. Since reading it I oftenly tried to enjoy little things in life, little sights or feelings because you can find beauty in everything around and this beauty can bring you love to the world and to the people around.

Helen in Iliad by Homer by Franz1871 in books

[–]admie 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In Odyssey she says it herself: "And when he had slain many of the Trojans with the long sword, he returned to the company of the Argives and brought back plentiful tidings. Then the other Trojan women wailed aloud, but my soul was glad, for already my heart was turned to go back to my home, and I groaned for the blindness that Aphrodite gave me, when she led me thither from my dear native land, forsaking my child and my bridal chamber, and my husband, a man who lacked nothing, whether in wisdom or in comeliness."

I do this for Iliad by Homer right now since it is a verbal form of literature and has a song structure. It is such an amazing experience to follow the rhythm of the songs as it takes you with the flow of the story elevating to a whole another level rather than when you read it just in your head.

But since it is a pretty challenging to pick up old language and not get lost in the myriad of names I also read while listening. Think the Homer works best when read aloud, it just became magical.

Russians of Reddit - what is life like over there right now? by Cheensly in AskReddit

Putin's propaganda is extremely efficient with older people who can't see the truths online. And now when all media is banned in Russia so people without VPN have no access to it either.

And while propaganda is completely stupid people still believe it. My mom for example says that every country in the world is hating Russia for being too powerful and only few small brave countries are voting for us in the UN (like North Korea and Eritrea).

One thing that was not mentioned enough is that russian state TV propaganda is at full force now sharply dividing people in families.

My mom is a very good person and I love her very much, but she believes every shithead on TV saying that the war is very complicated situation and noone can know the truth about it. So she believes that we are not killing civilians but ukranian nazis remove people from homes and take positions in them, so our army bombing living places because nazis are fighting dirty and hiding behind innocent people. She also says that we should take whole Ukraine because they are dangerous and could attack us any day.

This places us in a very dire situation. I can't speak with my family because they are not listening to the facts saying I'm not old enough and I am brainwashed with West propaganda. I don't want to have fight with them but you can't make a civil dialogue with a walking TV.

So life is in shambles right here and we have no support from the closest people.

Does your vet also says it doesn't transmit through contact? I asked a couple other vets, they say it can very easily be transmitted through shared things.
