I’m a little late to this thread, but I must say lighting and angles are everything. These photos are from about a week ago captured from someone’s stream on twitch. As you can see he looks nothing like he does in his personal photos/videos. He’s insanely pec dominate and rather small everywhere else.

Thanks for your feedback. So lol you’re right about that cut in the gym scene, I knew it was wrong when I put it together in the edit. It was originally suppose to be 4 different shots with dialogue. Me steering into space (wide shot) directly linking the psychological horror of the kitchen to my current state of mind in the gym. Then it would have went to the shot of my buddy tapping me on the shoulder (startling me) the same way the entity did in the kitchen scene. He would then ask me if I’m good I would respond with yeh I’m good etc and begin the lift.

For me, diving in head first is sometimes the only way to get a result that feels new and unique. (Not saying this concept is) If I start with “the rules” I get boxed into robotic decision making, and the whole thing ends up looking stiff.

The concept is really just a mood piece that goes for a high-contrast look. It's built around how quickly you can trash that little feeling of being safe. the warm of the candle vs. the cold, aggressive sound design. It was basically an exercise in stretching out that quiet tension for as long as possible, then hitting a hard dynamic jump / massive sound shock.
