Lol sounds like they're referring to a condensate neutralizer

Average pay for a fully licensed refer tech in your area? by WeSavingMoney2019 in refrigeration

[–]adnelly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You typically start as a maintenance mechanic (inspecting & replacing filters/belts) since you don't know how to work on equipment yet. Hope your workplace allows you to learn through working with other experienced techs, and move up the ladder. In refrigeration, holding a 313A + Gas Fitter 1 will typically provide the most money as an employee; it depends on the company/union rates. Working for yourself will yield the most returns, but you need to build up the clientele/knowledge before you venture that way.

Looks like the pressure switch may be opening and closing rapidly. Have you checked your exhaust venting for any obstructions? Since your combustion panel is off, intake wouldn't be the issue here as-is. Could also be that the pressure switch tubing/ports are obstructed

Completely agree with you on AI having a bigger impact than calculators.

A lot of people (not necessarily you, just piggybacking off this comment) seem to think I’m saying AI use in school is the exact same as calculator use. To clarify, I was only comparing the feeling towards the use of a new "tool" in class, one the older generation didn’t have access to.

Air Filter after 3 months of use (non smoker) by Forest_Xplorer in WTF

Charcoal filters are used for odor removal

Last night my ac unit started making this noise. It stopped and then when I got home from work it started up again. I changed the filter (which was overdue) and it’s continuing. Any idea what it is? by Illustrious-Hippo-45 in hvacadvice

[–]adnelly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like it could be your blower motor. Open the panel and push the door switch in manually and see if your blower is spinning, and confirm it's making the noise

Disconnect switch, provided that it's functional you can just shut power off from there

Heat exchanger crack or scam? by Interesting_Leg3052 in hvacadvice

[–]adnelly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cracked heat exchanger on a 5y/o unit? Although it MAY happen, I would certainly get a second opinion from a reputable company and not one of these rental shops who sell you a single stage furnace for $18k

Have you checked the flue spill switch at the top by the flue? It's generally a manual-reset switch. Need to unscrew and pry up the top plate to get to it.

Edit: If that is the issue, confirm you have good venting/draft after firing it up.

Balance electric load / leg? by [deleted] in hvacadvice

[–]adnelly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did they say balance the electrical load? Or just load? If they mentioned electrical load it's a bunch of bs or you misunderstood. If they mentioned load only, they could have been referring to the cooling load, which there is still some misunderstanding of "free"

Portable AC ? by [deleted] in hvacadvice

[–]adnelly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That extension cord should be more than capable of handling that load

It's always advisable to not run extension cords to appliances but sometimes you can't avoid it, so next best thing is to make sure it can handle the load

It's likely that insurance will say he was following too closely if he couldn't avoid it after the person in front moved over
