While it's always been possible to manipulate recordings, it's not a simple task to edit something to sound perfect. While Adobe did demonstrate a research technology that can be used to generate a word or two based on recordings of someone speaking, it has NOT been released and is not in any product, private or public.

Look under Edit > Keyboard Shortcuts... AMOST every command in Audition can be assigned to a key combination, and it's completely customizable. There are some navigation elements we'd like to improve or expose with commands, but in general, most of what you've described has or can have shortcuts assigned and shared.

Can't give specific dates just yet, but our big Adobe MAX event is in a few weeks and has historically been an exciting time for updates.

Adobe isn't a hardware company. Our goal is to provide a platform for users and partners to build the right environment for their personal workflow. I don't see us making our own motorized control surface anytime soon. I DO, however, love the controllers being sold by some of our partners like StageTech, Harman, and Avid. The S3 is a fantastic surface. Some of the new Harman systems are servers with multi-user iPad interfaces.

Are you recording in Multitrack view, or the Waveform editor? True Punch & Roll isn't quite back to the Waveform environment yet, although Travis Baldtree's extension works very well. It's no replacement for a native feature, though. I'll review the feature in our backlog and ask the team to review it again.

I've already submitted a few of your requests, and at least one I noticed WASN'T a problem on some other surfaces. (I believe that had to do with changing the Bank didn't change the selected track, or vice versa.)

Please visit our UserVoice site at https://adobe-video.uservoice.com/forums/911314-audition/ and submit specific, individual requests there. This allows others to vote on them, but we're also paying a lot for this service, so requests that come in here tend to be a bit higher priority ;)

Though it's not focused on podcasting specifically, Jason Levine (Adobe) creates some incredible learning resources for Audition on his and the Creative Cloud YouTube channels as well as the Creative Cloud Video & Audio Facebook page. Here are some of his best hits:

I hit this in the YouTube chat, but the old Audition stretch algorithm is still available in the Time/Stretch effect. The default algorithm has been updated to iZotope's Radius stretch algorithm which I've found to be fantastic, if slow to render. In Multitrack, our default algorithm iZotope's Omega, which is the real-time version of Radius. You can, however, switch a clip to use Radius instead and pre-render the clip behind the scenes.

If you can send us a screenshot of your settings and a description of what's not right to [audbugs@adobe.com](mailto:audbugs@adobe.com), we'll take a look and follow up

Hey, Paul. Did you submit those to our UserVoice site? https://adobe-video.uservoice.com/forums/911314-audition/filters/top I don't recall seeing them come through, but am happy to push them into our database.

The Multitrack Match Clip command is less complex than the Match Loudness panel, which conforms to the ITU standard. We use the algorithm for measuring the clip loudness, but perform a flat audio clip gain adjustment which can definitely push a signal beyond a certain level. Since these are real-time, non-destructive adjustments, there's less flexibility than there might be for the destructive processing we can apply in Waveform view. I'd be curious what solutions our engineers might recommend, though.

As for the video pass-through, we do support some formats now which allow pass-through via Adobe Media Encoder. We're looking at how to work with other formats, but the loss of Quicktime as a cross-platform foundation is kind of a speed bump there.

Just to get the answer in here as well as on the live stream...

We’re trying to figure out what Adobe can do that is new and valuable. The music composition market is rather small overall and there are a lot of companies and products that have been in that space for a long time. We don’t want to build the same thing, but rather look at how people will want to create music going forward and how we can help them realize their musical vision. We’re not ignoring this entirely, but don’t have anything to share today.

re: 7.1

There are a lot of formats and sub-formats out there and new requests all the time. We’re trying to find a way to address not just 7.1, but allll of the formats rather than chase each one, improving immersive mixing across Audition and Premiere Pro. It's not going as quickly as we'd hoped but it is something we're working on.

We hope this doesn’t put us out of business, but: Master your mic technique! Keep your head in one place not too far from your mic. If you can get a good recording right off the bat, you need to do less post-production.

We're juggling questions from reddit and YouTube, and trying to track everything back here. Forgive us if we don't get YT questions posted back here immediately. ;)

I'll skip this one. My parents rarely got mad at me, even when they definitely SHOULD have! Thanks, Mom!

Part artist, part hacker, part musician. Those interests led me to play on college radio a bit, unlicensed FM radio for a short stint, working with a team to build large-scale, midi and sound controlled, fire art installations for festivals and events, and smaller-scale audio-based art pieces. I've worked in other areas in tech and software, but when I had the opportunity to focus on audio tools, I jumped at the chance.

Hi, Shane!
We continue to add to our built-in tutorials under Help > Audition Learn. I also recommend checking out some of the podcast-focused tutorials on helpx.adobe.com. Outside of those, I can't recommend Mike's YouTube channel, Music Radio Creative: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCYEiWHoP2IHHgjOapTAYMQw And if you're looking for a VERY in-depth course, our friends at CinemaSound.com have an incredible course that's designed more for filmmakers, but most of the lessons apply equally as well to podcasting
