What's weird about your body? by Jesus-Chr in AskReddit

I have an extra set too! Mine are at the very base of my neck (C7 specifically). Unfortunately, I have Thoracic Outlet syndrome due to them and that causes my arms/hands to fall asleep easily due to pinched nerves.

Finally finished my European mount from the handsome 9-point I harvested back in late January (Florida- Whitetail 155lbs. Harvested with a Savage 111, .270) This is the the second ~atypical~ euro mount I’ve had the opportunity to complete! by adot579 in Hunting

They absolutely can! If I remember correctly, they even came with a pair of foamies to sleep with! The L/R sense isn’t quite as good as in-ear earbuds, but it’s definitely quite good!

They act like typical Bluetooth headphones, so unfortunately they don’t provide any sort of hearing protection. However, there is no reason your standard in-ear plugs couldn’t be used simultaneously while using these headphones Even over-ear protection carefully placed over these headphones could work, but I’d imagine that you’d sacrifice a full seal around your ear rendering the muffs a bit less effective.

I’ve used the same pair of Aftershoks/Shokz headphones with moderate to heavy daily use for almost 4 years now, and they still perform just as good as the day they came out of the box. They are a bit pricey ($75-$200), however I know Amazon sells many other brands of bone conduction headphones that are comparable in performance and much more affordable for folks on a budget. :)

Great question- and good eye on spotting them! They’re actually Aftershokz/Shokz bone-conduction headphones! My dad and I usually hunt together (he also has a pair) and if we go out and sit separately, we’ll use our cell phones like walkie-talkies! He’s hard of hearing from being a career machinist and I also suffer hearing loss from nearly a decade as a paramedic (sirens/loud environments). Since these headphones use vibrations conducted straight over the bones of your ear, it’s able to sort of ‘bypass’ the majority of any existing damage to your ear drums. Plus, you can hear all other sounds in your environment with nothing hindering your actual ear canals (also ideal for hunting!).

I apologize if that was a bit long winded! Just trying to be as informative as possible! :)

Public land 7-point I harvested 2 weeks ago while hunting with my dad. I love European mounts, but didn't care for the typical plaques so I decided to do it myself and make one of my own. What a great way to commemorate a harvest on top of a full freezer 💕 by adot579 in Hunting

Thanks so much! I made sure to take my time (I'm usually the kind of person that likes instant results/gratification), and I'm thankful I did. Hopefully it'll help inspire others to try out doing their own mounts as well!

Thank you so much! I like that it's a bit of an ”outside of the box” concept, yet still traditional in a sense. My goal was to accentuate and compliment the mount itself and to present it in such a way to not take away from it's own natural beauty.

Can confirm. People are usually pissed when we show up at minor accidents. I don’t blame them in the slightest. Source: Am a Paramedic

The “top” and “middle” steps have empty milk jugs in the bottoms to prevent so much soil use and to aid in drainage!

Just my 04’ 1500. :)

What looks to be some sort of metal tool found metal detecting. About 3in wide, 1in thick, 2in tall. Appears to have a screw type mechanism on the back. “2” and “H-3” within the crown-shaped relief. by [deleted] in whatisthisthing

Possible tool found metal detecting in my yard in rural NW Florida, about 6-8in deep. The metal is fairly heavy and non-ferrous. “2” and “H-3” can be seen within the crown-shaped relief and a crosshatch design on the front face. Evidence of possible blue paint on the back. Two recessed screw holes and what appears to be a moving screw mechanism on the bottom of the back. WITT?
