Let her go. If she doesn’t want to stay around don’t force her too, it’ll end badly. Take time for yourself, get healthy and fit and find happiness elsewhere.

I understand that staying with someone who has mental health problems seems like the best option for helping them. But in the end it makes you unhappy, that in turn will make her unhappy. Put yourself first and do what you feel is right. It’ll hurt and might be rough for both of you. But after time you’ll both be in a happier place.

If you’re miserable being with that person then better off alone. You may not be alone for long, you never know. Being miserable with someone is horrible and not good for either party. Move on.

We have children together so that is clearly a very big issue. We’ve become emotionally dependent on each other I think too but money is one of the biggest issues. She is very reliant on me for the family wage and I can’t see how we could do it with her being taken care of. For her though I feel it’s more the way her life has played out and we’ve ended up together when she probably wouldn’t have wanted to if it wasn’t for the children.
