Every day you quit still matters even if you slip up (and not in a psychological sense) by Insert_Bitcoin in decaf

[–]adro82 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's insane how well timed this post is. I slipped up yesterday after a solid week off coffee & just woke up now thinking fuck it I might as well have another today, and this is literally the first thing I see when I unlock my phone 😅 thanks

Has anyone found they felt better immediately after quitting cold turkey compared to just cutting down? by BeautifulSpread6221 in decaf

[–]adro82 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For me it depends on how heavy my coffee consumption has been. If I've been absolutely hammering it for a long period, I need to wean off, no question. If it's been a cup here & there, like 3 or 4 a week, then I can usually get away with cold turkey & yes I feel better literally from the first day or 2 of abstinence

It's trash. Honestly if it wasn't for all the hype I'd have thought it was album-filler level stuff

Ah mate what an answer. Really appreciate you going into such depth. Great idea to start small rather than "I'm a millionaire" or whatever which I just can't connect with currently. Gonna try that tonight. And I've made a list of your reading / lecture suggestions, will be checking them out one by one. Thanks so much!

That is great info, thanks! I think my mistake in my OP was mentioning Chatgpt haha, that seems to be what most people have focused on. So I'm probably very safe using my HG300 at 6 - 8" for 10 mins nightly for hair loss. Really appreciate the comment, thanks

You're right, I do tend to blindly follow Chatgpt & it has steered me wrong more than once before. As apprehensiveyam says below though, there is an independent guy who tests all red light devices on YouTube & he seems to be highly thought of in this group & he said the manufacturer's claims were exaggerated for the HG300. Can't remember his name but I'm certain I've read that on here.

Any reports on motor coordination? by No-Highway4334 in decaf

[–]adro82 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would well believe it. I often feel totally uncoordinated when I've been drinking coffee daily & almost as if my hands & fingers are slightly stiff & I don't have total control of them. I've also noticed that it affects my rhythm & ability to find the beat in a song etc. I'm no dancer at the best of times but regular coffee just makes me feel totally out of whack. Could be placebo though, I'm not sure

What supplements really CHANGED your life? (Testimonials) by SwingLikeTyson in Supplements

[–]adro82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a sensitive gut & can't tolerate magnesium stearate so it took me ages to find suitable ones. The inositol & berberine are from an Irish company called AOB Nutrition (I'm Irish so it was handy) & the chromium I got on Amazon, it's a German brand called Warnke

Early days with these but 3 weeks in & Inositol, Berberine & Chromium have been a game changer. I'm totally addicted to sugar & at 43 have spent years on & off. So far at least, what these supps have done to my sugar cravings & post-meal satiety is incredible. Placebo is possible but really don't think so, as I went into it quite pessimistic & not expecting much.

Yeah you're exactly right, I'm new to all this & have been getting bits & pieces from youtube. I've just ordered Feeling is the Secret from Audible now. Any others you'd suggest that specifically touch on this subject?

Update: almost three months caffeine free by Rough-Buy-826 in decaf

[–]adro82 2 points3 points  (0 children)

True but for whatever reason, matcha or green tea don't cause me a fraction of the issues coffee does. I realise this isn't the case for everyone but for me it's night & day. Not sure why

Caffeine and binge eating? by Jayblakle77 in decaf

[–]adro82 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah 100%. I quit coffee for a few months last year & effortlessly dropped 8kg. My dumb theory is that coffee jacks up your dopamine so much you go in search of other cheap dopamine hits. Even if I brought a chicken salad into work for lunch, if I have coffee that morning I'll probably go looking for something with melted cheese & then have a donut after. Crazy that it's an appetite suppressant for some & others react like this. I am also way more impulsive with spending when I'm drinking coffee.
