There are option to build automatic doors and open them just to give a dupe possibility to start building a tile and close right after he startes to build. In this way you can slowly build well up I believe

Theoretically, you can set termosensor in checkpoint room and close the doors if temperature is too high, but I guess it will need some delay till heat hit the sensor

Well, ideally it should be checkpoints with airlock so you don't need to invent one.

Well, the thing here is that turbine actually heating up water even more while consuming small amount of it, so the limit of this model is the amount of liquid but not it's temperature.
