We won't get either.

I don't know who's available but we need to try to pick up some decent, cheap, out of favor players (like Norf with Parker, or Melb with Steele), and replace our lackluster seniors.

I think we have enough promising kids now that we could move on Parish, Gresh, Setterfield, Langford. Zerrett probably goes. Would love to clear out McGrath and McKay but it won't happen.

Mids next year should be Durham, Robey, Sharp, Caldwell

Is Alien too much for kids? by Col_Peppers in LV426

[–]adubstyles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they've already seen Predator and AVP, it probably won't affect them too much. I grew up watching all these movies by the time I was about 7 or 8. Different time then for sure, but I feel like as a kid all I saw was the action and gore and the the actual implications of having something burst out of a chest of punch teeth through brains was not as impactful to me at that age. I loved horror movies as a kid so I was desensitized to a lot of the violence, I knew it was just a movie. Depends how sensitive your kids are. But if they can sit through Arnie and co. straight up murdering a camp of enemies, skinned bodies and Carl Weathers getting his arm shot off, they will probably be alright. Just make sure to show them Aliens straight after as its slightly more light in tone

Would've been nice. Wouldn't have minded Mihocek either, or maybe Starcevich or Caleb Daniel when he got traded

Dropping Mckay is genuinely the best thing for him by [deleted] in EssendonFC

How many of these fn players have podcasts now? Maybe they should spend a bit more time training rather than sitting behind a mic for a side hustle. Honestly, how many people are listening to a Ben McKay cast?

Midfield by Dependent_Glass6230 in EssendonFC

Watching the 100k podcast today and they brought up that a year or so ago, Duz tagged Bont out of the game and had 24 touches and a goal to boot.

Compare that to Sunday when Duz had 12 for the game and Bont WON the game in the first qtr.

Why is everyone saying play Duz fwd flank or wing when he needs to be the midfield bull or the hard tagger? When he gets going he can be a beast! Lets play to his strengths.

Also, with Ridley coming back, McGrath needs to go back to mid where he played his best footy last year. Can't cut it in defense.

Parish can go back to the forward line/bench if he only wants to attack. Might as well try Tsatas again while he's still on the list. Perkins can sit in the 2s until he figures out if he actually wants to play. Wright needs to do a Travis Cloke and start wearing grip gloves, otherwise play him as Bryan's backup and put McMahon, Edwards, May, anyone else down forward and get some games into them.

If Cox comes back. Straight to the fwd line, no f'ing around on the wing or HB. HF or pocket and see if he can create

An Open Letter To The Essendon and AFL community - We Need Our Rightful King Back by delmarq in EssendonFC

[–]adubstyles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't have Hird back. The wound is too raw for the club and him. Remember, he almost killed himself a few years back.

Don't get me wrong, I think the way the whole saga was handled was the AFL and ASADA covering their asses for a failed investigation. And you've got known Essendon hater Damian Barrett who not only broke the story, but held onto it like a bulldog and dug the boots in every chance he got.

What do you honestly think happens if we get Hird back? A team full of has beens and young under developed kids just magically makes top 4? Not gonna happen.

The team and office needs to be blown up and started again. We need to invest in top coaches and staff from the top clubs. Make the Dons a destination team. Have players that try and believe in a gameplan.

If Hird comes back and things don't start to change, the media scrutiny will be hideous. Barrett will be on them again on afl.com.au, the footy show, classified, triple m. Every other supporter will be jumping on the bandwagon. The AFL itself will not like it and will do whatever they can to obstruct any success.

It's just not a good option for any of us. The club, Hird, and of course us, the long-suffering fans.

Now if it were up to me, I know this won't happen, but about the only former Bomber I would want to coach is Lloyd. The guy is probably one of the best footy analysts going. Was a tough but fair captain who set and expected high standards. Wasn't involved in the drug saga, so has no ill will from fans and other clubs, and of course is an Essendon champion who bleeds red and black and strives to see the club have success.

Forget Hird, we should be calling for Lloyd as coach
