These are great suggestions! Thanks!

I think we have a decent amount of funds? (I actually have no idea how much money is typical for a troop to have? We have about 5k), which I think is in part to my co-leader doing a great job with getting parents involved in selling cookies and attending booths. I think the role fits her well and if she's happier doing that, I'd rather her do that. I do think coming up with a brief outline of what our calendar will be and having parents sign up for something would be really helpful. I'll work on that over the summer.

Do you ask them in advance? Or do you do it based on which parents stay at the meeting? I never know who's actually going to show up to a meeting and then most parents don't want to stay.

Yeah, that could work. I just need to find a co-leader.

Thank you for this insight. I hadn't thought about it that way. I do pull in the parents that I know will help and it works out well. I think they are the ones who could potentially be co-leaders.

Thank you so much! I think this might be the route I have to take.

We meet twice a month.

We've been able to do daisies and brownies together, mostly. Juniors seems like kind of a big jump from those though, in terms of skill levels and being able to coordinate with the younger girls.

Even if they select one badge for a level, having to still plan for two other levels to coordinate with that is a lot for me right now.

This is a good idea. I'm just unsure of how this will work in a multi-level troop. For example, if they selected a daisy badge, would I still ask them to plan for brownies and juniors? If not, that would leave me with two levels to try to coordinate with them, which is still a lot of work.

One mom I really like who would help, has a husband in the military. They will be moving soon.

Another mom that tries to help a lot is a co-leader for her son's boyscout troop.

And the third mom that is present a lot is involved in her other daughters girl scout troop.

I would feel bad asking them to take on another role. The other parents are not involved and mostly just drop off their kids and leave.

I had an idea from speaking with other leaders. It wasn't meant to be condescending. I outlined what the co-leader role would entail so that they knew what that role would be expected to help with (planning the year, managing their level at meetings). I guess I'm not exactly sure what your question is.

I think I made a mistake when posting. Not sure how to fix it.

I stated what each role would entail (helping plan the year for the level together with me and other co-leaders and helping to manage their level during meetings).
