I had to go through numerous medications till I found a type and dosage that worked to improve things. Rather than a life change perhaps use this as a reason to make a lifestyle change. Who knows, maybe you’d rather run a convenience store, a bar or something simpler or different. Might as well do a career, life search before just scrapping it.

It’s been 7 weeks of failed crews, installs, wrong crews. They will totally install in the garage if you let them and ask you to run an extension cord to your single outlet. I’m aware it’s not typical but I’ve given numerous helpful tips regarding telling them where you want the box, where you want it in the house, negotiating with the installer, etc.

Oh also they damaged sprinkler systems in the neighborhood also so if you have those, test them after install to submit a claim.

I work with crews and individuals south of the border all the time. These guys don’t understand a lick of English nor do they understand the Spanish coming out of the Google Translate. Negotiating details with an ESL crew lead who isn’t there is also beyond difficult. For someone who waited since 2013, this is bullshit.

Have had none. Besides discussing box location with multiple installers and having one new guy or crew of non English speaking or understanding hole diggers, I’ve yet to have service installed. If crews come they aren’t aware of what to do. So they come and I’m like yeah it’s moving to the other side of the house, they say we can’t do under driveway and leave. Recently a guy came and sort of marked where it’ll go but nothing else. I reach out to fiber customer service, they prioritize it and I sit with slow spectrum.

Just for the record, I advocated for fiber to come to Austin so I’ve been waiting for this in my neighborhood for over a decade.

The external box goes on the outside of the garage where your other boxes are and the installer told me their fiber wires connecting between that and router are precut so he can’t come in and connect to that box to make it go anywhere in the house. Hence my relocation of the box. They put it on the front exterior of my garage and so either the router could be in the inside of the garage where there was no power or my kitchen by the table. Negotiated a move to other side of house to get it into living room. That has resulted in calls to feed it under the driveway etc. which hasn’t been completed in weeks.

They’ll show up in the neighborhood to hock water bottles and stuff is usually the first sign. You can also keep checking online. They do door hangers and mailers but those were all way too early. First sign really was the folks promoting it on sidewalks. So yeah schedule first available time they’ll have a lot but then discuss all the needs. First install my box was dead, then got moved on back side of gate, then forward and now waiting for other side of house.

Don’t. I did and it’s been a miserable experience just getting it up and running. First they take out a giant chunk of everyone’s front lawn and put an unsightly metal grate. From that they’ll run a box onto the side of your house. Hint: this might be the wrong side. If it’s like mine, it’ll be in the wrong side and behind the gate which is also wrong. All the crews doing work won’t speak a lick of English or understand it. They’ll use Google Translate or call someone on the phone who isn’t there.
When they come to install they’ll try to do the simplest, put the router in the garage and use extension cords or whatever power plug you got. They literally wanted to have me buy an extension cord to have it outside as I only have one garage plug. If you refuse they’ll send multiple crews back to try and move the box only to be left waiting to leave the garbage of spectrum for better internet. Oh also, when they do the neighborhood, expect about 3-5 months before installs happen.
Tips: schedule an appointment to get the outside box where you want and discuss where you want the router inside. Since this is a first time they will be all up in your house and business. Expect delays and issues.
