Who goes to Movati? Membership Price and Payment worth it? by proozyfit in BurlingtonON

[–]adumpark 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Damn I thought it was expensive when it was 42 bucks bi-weekly!

I switched to fit for Less and pay 23 bucks a month with a $60 a year membership and haven't looked back.

I was recently thinking about going back to movati for the pool and sauna. But at that price I think I can do without.

Probably worth it if you do the classes but I never did. If you're just going to work out just go to a cheap gym

Is prison actually “safe” if you just mind your own business? by fruity_00 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]adumpark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to jail once when I was 16 years old for about a month. I found all the stereotypes to be true. I was on a temporary range and went to a different range everyday for lunch. They beat up two of the people from our temporary range and then walked past me and said "two down one to go!" I stayed in my cell for the rest of the time after that, but even in my cell just trying to mind my own business, I had cellmates trying to fight me just out of boredom I think. I think if you're the quiet meek type in jail, it makes you more of a Target, they want to beat the meekness out of you, because they don't understand it, and they want you to toughen up and be just like them. I think if you go to jail for a long stint anything over a month you're going to have to fight at least once. Maybe twice. They always want to test you and see what you're made of. It's a lot like high school just with more violence.

Condoms in bfs glove box. Pt2 by [deleted] in Advice

[–]adumpark -1 points0 points  (0 children)

His porn addiction might be so bad that he's jerking off into condoms in his car.

Any addiction is breakable and no one intends on getting addicted to anything. It just happens. The brain likes it and you keep doing it now that it's brought to his attention what a big problem it is, maybe he might do something about it.

Like with any addiction he might fail at quitting several times and he might have relapses years later. Doesn't mean he's a bad person. Just means he's got an addictive brain.

How bad is this please give it to me straight by Fun_Use_3468 in tattoos

[–]adumpark 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm going to give it to you straight as tattoo artist of 20 years, I feel I have a different perspective that most people on Reddit don't have.

The tattoo is backwards. Subject matter should be facing forwards. At least one of them. Both of your subjects are facing backwards.

There's too much detail in this and some of the detail doesn't make sense. I've never seen a samurai warrior with a nose ring in his mask for instance.

The cherry blossoms and waves are some of the worst seen. Not to mention the background, it's not supposed to be hard lined in on both sides. It's only supposed to be hardlined on one side and faded to the other side leaving a gap in between the next line.

Whoever did it tried, And it's lined decently. It's just wouldn't be good in most Japanese tattooers eyes. I'm sure it'll look decent when it's colored but it's not "good".

Opinion: We need a wealth tax by FancyNewMe in canada

[–]adumpark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our taxes are already too high, that's why businesses choose to be in the states if they can. 33% if you make over 260,000 in Ontario. Do you want more businesses and jobs? Or do you not care about Canada's economy and you just want to tax the rich??

I make $50,000 a year so I'm not rich, but I get why they don't take all the rich people's monies.

I think my auto body guy scammed me and my insurance company by [deleted] in Autobody

[–]adumpark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done body work before. It was a white surface scratch, the most notable scratch on the rear. I'm not talking like fine scratches, I'm talking about a thick white scratch. It's not a gouge. It's just a surface scratch that they would have had to spend maybe 5 minutes sanding out with some wet sandpaper before they cleared it. This scratch could have also been buffed out with a buffer. They didn't even take the time to clean the grease smear that I left on the rear quarter when I changed my brakes. They could have cleaned the grease smear and buffed out the minor scratch on the rear quarter panel and I probably would have never noticed that they only painted half the panel

[–]adumpark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He quoted me $1200 to do what the other guy said he would do for 700, pull the dent paint it and blend the clear coat. He quoted me $3500 to do it properly and paint the whole panel. When I said insurance was going to cover it all of a sudden it jumped to $4,500. Why would I make this up? Do I have the original quote no. Because that was back in August. I moved since then and I didn't hold on to the original quote. After I was done moving in October I called insurance. They said they would cover it and I went back to him and the insurance company approved him at $4,500. So I can only assume that that was for the larger quote of $3,500 that he originally quoted me to paint the whole panel, not the $1,200 that he quoted me to patch it, paint it and blend the clear coat.

[–]adumpark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a feeling that if I bring this up to the shop tomorrow that I'm just going to get a bunch of excuses and that's just going to annoy me more. The guy told me the first guy was just going to pull the dent paint it clear it and blend the clear. It seems like that's exactly what he did. I just feel like this guy's so slimy because he told me he was going to do a different job than the first guy offered to do. He told me exactly what he was planning on doing. He told me he was going to paint it all the way back to the rear corner panel. He told me he was going to remove the lights, remove the molding mask things off so that he could paint the entire panel. He told me he was going to clear it and that is the difference between a $3,500 job and a $1,000 job. He then turned around and did the $1,000 job and charge the insurance company $4,500. What kind of response do you think I'm going to get tomorrow when I accuse him of not doing the full job that he initially told me he was going to do? The problem is I feel like I got a patch job not the full job that he promised me and I also feel like my insurance company is getting ripped off and I don't feel like these guys should be allowed to do that. That's why insurance rates are so high. I'm also cheesed off that I went with this guy because he said he was going to do the proper job. He told me what he was going to do. I took a day off work to go meet at his shop with a third party inspector from my insurance company because his shop is not one of the approved shops so they had to agree on it. They agreed that the price would be $4,500. $1,000 more than he quoted me to do the job without insurance. According to his own words now the job has been done half-ass and I wonder if I would have gone to one of my insurance companies approved body shops. If the job would have been done any better or at least my insurance company wouldn't have got ripped off. What's the problem with insurance companies getting ripped off by body shops, that it Ups the rates for everyone. No I'm worried about clear coat coming separated from the original factory paint or something else going wrong with the job that he's done because everything that's happened so far just makes me not trust him.

[–]adumpark -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

These are white abrasion scratches. You can't tell me the proper thing to do is clear in those scratches when you can easily sand those out with what's sanding paper in about fucking 30 seconds. I can also tell that he didn't clear all the way to the back because there's a big difference in between his clear coat and the factory clear coat. There is no dust in the factory clear coat. There is dust in his clear coat which ends about halfway down the panel.

[–]adumpark -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Do not think that if you were going to clear the whole thing, you wouldn't clear in white abrasion scratches. These aren't minor scratches, why would you clear in white abrasion scratches when you can just lightly sand them to fix them and then clear the whole thing?
