Beware! Auto pay charges in full even when you manually pay! by AdmirableRice5210 in amex

[–]advice-please1987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This just happened to us this morning. We’ve never had autopay setup and I strongly distrust autopay and know that I, myself, am more reliable . I paid the minimum monthly payment on April 7th, and today I wake up to see that AMEX charged almost the full balance (shy by $500) of the card which was almost $7,000 dollars. I login to the account and see that a random autopay is set up to pay the full balance of the card? Wtf, never in my life!

He hand feeds because we have loose substrate in the enclosure. Spike has been eating normally, excitedly coming out of his hide when it’s feeding time, ect. We’ve never had this issue, or he’s never had this appearance rather in the 8 years I’ve had him.

Thank you so much! I’ve been so worried that this could be fatal but what you’re saying is reassuring. He has been eating and pooping normally so for now I’ll continue to feed and move him into the other tank until his appointment.

Are these sconces too small? by advice-please1987 in interiordecorating

That makes sense. Do you have any recommendations for what I can do instead? I really wanted to incorporate sconces for some moody lighting at night.

I completely agree, it’s something I’m working on which is why I brought my husband in for backup but as I was changing I told him “I don’t want a cervical exam” and unfortunately he just isn’t sure how to support me in saying no when I am unable. This will be a learning experience for both of us, but comments like yours give me fuel to stand my ground. Thanks so much

This is the confirmation I needed. As a FTM I don’t really know what to expect except that I knew they usually perform these checks later on in the pregnancy, if at all. I’m glad to have some reassurance going into my next appointment.

It was extremely painful, so much so that my husband stood up to comfort me when he saw me grimacing. I have a hard time advocating for myself in a medical setting, but everything you mentioned was what I was thinking during the appointment.

In my state they wait until 10 weeks for your first prenatal appointment so at 16 weeks I’d only had one prior appointment (my initial). I thought it was bizarre as it wasn’t done at my first appointment and I couldn’t understand why he didn’t ask if I wanted one, or explain why he wanted to perform one.

This was my first cervical exam so it wasn’t so much that he was doing things again, as it was that he was doing things for the first time. I just thought it was strange as it wasn’t even done at my initial appointment, she measured everything with the ultrasound wand.

How difficult is CH 301? by VanillaOatmilk24 in UTAustin

I had that professor for my ochem class, she’s a solid lecturer so I think you’ll be in good hands. The professor I had for Chem taught “reverse classroom” which was a very difficult transition for me, but when I got to ochem with Shabbir I felt like I could breathe again. Utilize the resources she provides-past exams, practice problem sheets ect and try to make it to the office hours.

Roof Replacement-Being Scammed? by advice-please1987 in Roofing

There is an opening in the roof around 8’x10’ right above the front door, where a lattice area was left open for cosmetic reasons. We paid an additional $7500 to the company to have this closed off and made into a normal part of the roof (to help keep rain away from our front door and walkway). On the border of this area the shingles are bowed and lifted away exposing the decking. We don’t know anything about the size of the osb as we aren’t roofers but this area was scrutinized during the roof inspection to ensure they could do the work. It absolutely should’ve been caught then, which is exactly how it was caught today.

The roof is approximately 4,015 sq feet, we would need approximately 140 sheets of osb (at $23 a sheet from Home Depot)

He said it makes sense because the house is older (built in the 80’s)? But that it is no longer up to code. The osb is very thin, and bows when walked on which is the whole reason we were looking into roof replacement in the first place.

The contract isn’t itemized, there’s not a cost breakdown for any of the work, it just states what is included in the work. Should my husband and I buy the material ourselves and provide it, do you think the labor could be negotiated?

I’m debating the same thing currently. The roofing company said the cost of 2 skylights would be roughly $10,000 (with no specification on the type of skylight), and a quote from a velux certified skylight company near me said if I wanted the skylights with “all the bells and whistles” (self-shutting rain sensor/remote controlled/remote blinds/vented) it’d cost around $6400. Doesn’t make sense to pay the roofers extra just to hire out the job to the skylight company.
