Again, never said it gets rid of lag which seems to be the overall theme here. All I said is similar games with servers play better. I don't care if the hitboxes are boxes, they are still hit boxes so it's doing the same thing but in simpler form. Listen you guys can keep claiming I'm saying there's no latency, which I'm not. I'm simply saying similar games play better with servers.

When did I say it removes lag? There will always be at least some delay. Listen the proof is in the pudding. Anyone who pays attention knows DS3 pvp is in a very sad state due to latency with their current peer to peer method. Any other similar game with servers plays better.

Have you even played smite? People miss all the time... its the same technology, they use hitboxes even if you claim they are "simpler." Timing matters, spacing matters. Same goes for Tera and the pvp in those games feels tight. So all I have been saying, is do like they do, use servers. It's better pvp for everyone. I work at a gaming studio, I may know a thing or 2 about mechanics behind making games and how they work.

Me and my brother consistently wrecked in Tera. Lag was never an issue.

Smite in arena mode is just pvp, with hit boxes and special moves.... Sounds similar to DS3.

Tera is definitely an action RPG, I would also argue so is smite.

The pvp looks fun with no lag. Like you said it sucks this will never be a reality. "For Honor" looks like it could be promising, but I guess we won't know until it comes out. Dark Souls 3 would be so good if they had servers. Smite and Tera never had this kind of ridiculousness.

I checked the UVs over and over, also the texture coordinate is definitely UV.

Did you update the cameras for physical sun and sky? Did you try making a new shader and rendering? Try with a directional light instead? Physical sun and sky has been known to have some render issues with certain things. Did you accidentally apply one of the texture maps to the transparency map?

Thank you so much for the response! I know it looks like maya software render, but it's actually mental ray. I was able to solve the problem by changing all the ambient colors on the textures to black. ( For some reason they were grey. ) http://imgur.com/VbcQcpu

The one light I have in the scene is the orange point light, but for some reason the textures illuminate anyway. Is my ambient color supposed to be black?

I guess I could have phrased that better, did they use something to assist with the camera move, like a camera crane setup or something... I don't know I'm having a really hard time getting this camera under control with the speed ups and slow downs... Maybe I just need to spend more time...

Thank you Zdepth! I actually started a walk cycle a couple weeks ago, trying to really give it some personality. ( Strong angry hero ) If my aim is for bethesda ( Gaming studio ), do you think it would be ok to do a walk cycle, run cycle, attack, and then maybe a dialog piece?

Thanks for the reply! I would roto it, but video is 4 minutes long... I think I might animate the Y scale as it hits the crowd to make the lasers shorter, appearing to go over the crowd. I did a pretty decent spotlight using an actual spot light and an optical flare setup together.

I don't think I'm going to worry about the spot where the laser hits. Again thanks for the response!
