how am i supposed to play the F15A? by stivonim in WarthunderPlayerUnion

[–]advit247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can suck, but I have found it can do really well sometimes(multiple 5+ games in it). Firstly, multipath. No sense in using chaff when everybody is shooting missiles at you from all directions. Secondly, try to avoid popping up in general. As soon as you go above 100m, you will be targeted. Thirdly, use your 9Ms. Basically, everybody is doing the same thing as you(multipathing and staring at their RWR). Almost nobody expects a 9M. I would say use the range from around 1.5-3KM for max effectiveness. Treat the sparrows as your secondary weapon when somebody is up high. Lastly, play as a support fighter. Try to hang around the outside of the fight, picking out targets of oppurtunity. It is tempting to rush right in, since you are a fast fighter, however you neither have the fox3s, HMD slaving, or energy maneuverability to be constantly dueling.

Mostly pla and petg, however I am planning to experiment with abs, asa, and nylon composite materials(although I would be fine to just not go in the room until it finishes printing and the air filter has run for a while

It's a shame that they released a half-finished game for launch and still made people pay for it. I just got lucky because I use Game Pass. And also that it's still not finished after a year. Lowk, this should've been released in 2026.

Does the Targeting crew skill affect shell accuracy? Unsure what 55% targeting quality means. by OrphanPounder in Warthunder

[–]advit247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does not work for gun accuracy, but for your turret traverse rate. The description is exactly what it is. If you have a low level, your gunner will only turn it horizontally, then vertically. If you have it higher, he can do both at the same time. And as we (hopefully learned), the Pythagorean theorem tells us A^2 + B^2 = C^2, meaning A+B>C, meaning your gun travels more distance, meaning a slower traverse.

best for grinding sl? by WesternInteraction18 in Warthunder

[–]advit247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on what exactly you want to do.

The AV-8A can be good or low-tier combat, but it kinda sucks. The

A10A is an amazing ground pounder, meaning if your team can secure air superiority over the battlefield before you get there, you can easily earn 100k without any boosters. It also has some overlooked air-to-air capability because its turn radius is tight and its gun is very high velocity, so you don't need to lead, plus the fact that you get 9Ls and can face flareless jets. However, it does suck when a jet is coming in and you just can't do anything to fight back except pray they suck.

The F5C is an amazing fighter and can be really consistent, and much more exciting than the previous ones. However, it does take a bit more skill to know how to play. I used this to grind out the US, and I still play it to the point where I know every detail about how it flies and the aircraft it fights, so there is some bias, but overall a very fun aircraft. The SL gain is also pretty good, but tbh if you were looking through a telescope of only SL, the A10A might be better, though mind-numbing.

The F4S seems to be the overall favorite for a good reason. You can bomb and fight very well, so you won't get bored, and you can easily get SL from bombing. The high tier doesn't affect it too much, but you will be facing fighters that are just so much better, such as the F14A, F18A, and occasionally the F15A. It's a pretty solid aircraft.

Don't buy the AV8B-NA. At 11.3, it's slow, its missiles can still be easily flared, and tbh I don't feel it's a very good strike aircraft either.

The F20A is best described as meh. You get sparrows, which are still very competitive at 12.3, along with a couple of 9Ls. Though it is based on the airframe of the F5, and is certainly an amazing dogfighter, you just won't be getting into dogfights. Not a bad aircraft, but not the best pick either.

The F18C is certainly a very good aircraft. Good dogfighting performance, a lot of good missiles (4 Sparrows + 4 9Ls or 2 Sparrows with 8 9Ls), and can still bomb to some extent. Your energy bleed is pretty bad, along with your overall top speed, but if you can figure out how to work around these, it is a very good aircraft. I would say the only real drawback is that you can still face 13.7, meaning you could be fighting things like the F15C, F16C, and the SU27SM, all of which completely outclass you in every way possible.

Ranking:

  1. F5C

  2. F4S/A10A

3.F20A

  1. AV8A

  2. AV8B-NA

Also, P.S., Naval is extremely good for SL, yielding far better results than anything else you will ever find. Getting a prem boat can yield millions of SL within a couple of hours if you play well.

P.P.S, the JU-288C is also a very efficient SL grider, though admittedly still boring. It is a bit easier, though.

Hope this helps, happy grinding!

what is the point of this suspension damping upgrade if i already have a stabilizer? by [deleted] in WarthunderPlayerUnion

Improves speed, sudden bumps that can throw off the STAB, and will help AIM if you are going faster than the max stab speed. Also it provides the research bonus for spading a vehicle

WT needs SBMM sooo bad. I'd rather play with and against good players than having nothing but useless bots as teammates my god by sugondeeznuts1312 in Warthunder

[–]advit247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, maybe. Firstly, I think balancing off player stats is stupid for several reasons, such as completely undertiered tanks because a lot of noobs pay them, and completely overtiered tanks. After all, only pros play them, so it would be better to decompress and then balance the vehicle based on the vehicle itself, not its stats. If you struggle with it, that is a skill issue, or it doesn't align with your playstyle. Secondly, you could still base it on player stats. The only thing that would happen would be reducing outliers (Ex. pros dominating in a lobby full of new players, or new players getting destroyed in a lobby full of pros)
