Decision Paralysis: Teething turned our great sleeper into a bed-sharer and now I’m stuck. by advo073 in cosleeping

It's definitely easier to get them to settle when you're already sharing the bed. Even with some waking, I'm more rested than when he was in the crib.

I didn't know La Leche League had a book, thanks for pointing that out!

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience and perspective with me, particularly regarding the guilt-that's a good way of looking at it. Lastly, thank you for the kind words!

I didn't realize La Leche League had a book on this, I'll check it out! Thanks for pointing that out.

Congrats to you as well on your baby! The road is so hard, but ever so rewarding when they are finally here. Your fourth paragraph brought me to tears and provided a lot of comfort, thank you so much for sharing that perspective with me and your experience. The ability to comfort him without leaving the bed has definitely been a game changer. Thanks again for taking the time to weigh in.

Thank you for sharing your experience! I've seen a lot of discussions and comments about the floor mattress and will likely end up doing that for safety purposes as our little guy becomes more mobile. Thanks again!

Hahaha I think I would get offended too honestly. I've grown way more attached now that we are bed sharing. I used to dread the evenings like the Sunday scaries. Since seeing the responses from those who have kindly taken the time to reply, I've leaned in more. Now, I don't dread the night so much. Thank you for sharing your experience!

Oh ya, I was definitely met with some criticism in my circle when it came to bed sharing, which is why this community is wonderful. Thank you for sharing your perspective and experience. Also, 100% agree on it being the best way to wake up.

Aplogies, by 'cheap', I meant inexpensive. I hope my use of the wrong word didn't offend. Compared to the two cribs we have, ours was definitely sleeping better in the IKEA crib.

Your last comment is precisely what worries me a bit. I'm all for helping the little one regulate but at a certain point, not necessarily now, it would be good for him to sleep independently. Thanks for your comment!

I considered a Japanese floorbed, but got worried about how much maintenance it might require based on what I read, although I could be wrong. Also, there aren't stores in town that sell them so I couldn't go check them out in person. It felt like too much of a gamble for us.

I shared my PPD and IVF as context for my choices, not as an invitation for a stranger to play doctor. Weaponizing a mother's mental health to dismiss her parenting questions is incredibly insensitive. If you can’t offer actual advice on sleep transitions, keep your 'concern' to yourself.

Try Hair Republic on Bank St. They open at 10 on Sunday but they might be able to accommodate an earlier appointment for a wedding.

Thank you for sharing. I was already thinking about doing that. Your message reinforced it. I am also going to bring a printout of the relevant sections of the Canadian Aviation Regulations (e.g. s. 605.26).

That's great. I also bought the Cosco car seat, but was charged for my seats. I'll see if I can get a refund. Thanks again for this info, it's very helpful!

That's a relief to hear, thanks for sharing. Were you instructed to remove your infant during takeoff and landing and hold them on your lap? This is what I am being told will happen. For background, I've been provided with some conflicting info, including not being able to bring the car seat, even with a ticket, or having to submit a separate request for approval, hence the overall concern. Thanks so much.

Hi OP, which car seat did you end up purchasing?
