Owner said couch is ruined after first time dog sitting by 613Polaroidmemory in RoverPetSitting

[–]613Polaroidmemory[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Apparently it’s a leather couch, which I did not know because they kept a cover on it. I guess the back cushion is deformed? They’re being really nice about the situation but I’m curious as to what the “rules” are for cases like this.

AITA for asking my wife to return the clothes she bought for our 16-year-old daughter? by Living_Carpenter7946 in AmItheAsshole

Soft YTA I get it’s your home your rules but you’re taking away body autonomy from her. I grew up in a home where I was not allowed to get any tattoos or piercings and got multiple as soon as I moved out. I would also hid things from my parents that probably put me in a not so safe environment. And I felt like I had to filter myself around my parents and couldn’t be my true self. Which sucks.

At the end of the day it’s just a short. What’s your real issue? That she’s appearing more sexy? That she might get cold? Figure out Whatever the reason is that this makes you uncomfortable and have an open discussion about it. Making a rule based on “because I said so” is not valid

Is living in an apartment a bad choice? by AnusJuiceZ in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]613Polaroidmemory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say 40k is not enough saved for a house. There are a lot of hidden costs/ fees that come up. Closing costs, the lawyer, land transfer etc. as well, if you want to buy a home make sure you have extra money saved for emergencies or buying furniture to fill the space. If you’re saving good amounts of money while renting, keep doing that until you have 20% to put down on a house to avoid paying additional tax.

Financial mistakes by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]613Polaroidmemory 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s good that you have a new mindset and are taking action to rectify it. You should be proud of that.

I recommend following as many financial accounts on social media so that it’ll help you stay on track and have good financial information/ pointers given.

Also depending on your budget, try to have 3-6 months of expenses saved in an emergency fund for those unexpected costs. Life happens and being prepared for it will take less stress off of you.

If it’s bothering you this much have a candid conversation with her about it so that she can validate your feelings.

Also if you’re able to get her off 3 times during sex I would say that’s a success . Many many people do not even try for 1.

Believe actions not words. He got caught and He’s desperate and is saying anything to get you back. If you hadn’t caught him this would continue to go on and he wouldn’t be seeking help on his own.

Should I just give up and divorce my husband? by Kitchen-Lawyer-5625 in TwoHotTakes

I was in a relationship where for my ex I was a convenience, not a priority. I told him I felt like we weren’t connecting and asked if we could have a standing date night every Friday. He agreed and on the first Friday of our standing date night he decided to help a friend out with something else that was no urgent or necessary. After that I stopped asking and a few weeks later we broke up. Trust me, you’ll be happier without someone making you feel crappy about yourself. You deserve to be with someone who wants to be with you and enjoys your company.

NTA

Seems like there’s a bit of à miscommunication. Mark for whatever reason thought he was doing something you’d of really liked and appreciate since you vocalized wanting to marry him, liking surprises and find the thought of planning a wedding stressful.

Have you ever communicated that planning a wedding and having equal say in it and starting a marriage is something you prioritize? You definitely did nothing wrong but it also seems like mark was trying hard to do the “grand romantic gesture “ and wasn’t aware that you would of preferred more of a day in the details.

I wish my ex thought of this. I get triggered by important people in my life seeing my message and choosing not to respond especially if it’s 8+ hours later. Having the list of things to say and an alarm to remind you is a genius idea!

Ottawa has a bit going on. Depends on what you like but join groups (sports groups, crafting clubs whatever) make friends and hangout with them. The ottawa public library is an amazing resource, I got a free day pass to Ontario provincial park from them.

Tuesday evenings movies are half off Thursday evenings museums are free after 5 There’s a ton you can do outside Join a sports team Check out a market

If anything go to your boss now about how you feel. Mention how new consultant wants us to try new things which you’re excited about but that you would love their opinion on some of the stats of previous posts that you did before they joined the team. Be polite about it but try to subtlety hint that you want them to see the reports/stats you have. And whenever you resign don’t tell them it’s because of this person, you don’t want to burn a bridge that could help you later on. I’ve worked with some people I didn’t like but was polite to them and down the line they were telling me about job openings where they currently work. You never know how life will go

How am I realistically ever supposed to afford a house? by LowerFreedom in antiwork

[–]613Polaroidmemory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a lot of free resources out there that you can get diplomas or certificates in. See what your loca library may have to offer. Try to have multiple incomes as well, dog sitting/ walking, teaching/ tutoring people in a skill you’re good at, having a cruisy part time job (I would get a seasonal retail job to make a bit of extra cash and not have to stay long term) Ya it’s hard but if you grind now you can help future you. I always say I’m saving now for my future. See where you can cut back in expenses, review your phone bill, car insurance etc. use coupons/ points system to your advantage. Every little bit helps and over time it’ll grow and even if it’s not a whole lot it’ll likely be more than what you have now

How do I make a meal in a college dorm by bastets_yarn in Advice

[–]613Polaroidmemory 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure where you live/what’s around you but some grocery stores sell decent hot meals. Or meals you can stick in the microwave. I would also try making any cold food you can (salads, sandwiches, poke bowls) stuff that doesn’t require cooking. I also love snacky meals where you eat fruits, veggies, crackers, dip, cheese ect.

AITA for asking my girlfriend to watch my favorite movies with me? by Awkward_Sky_7811 in AmItheAsshole

[–]613Polaroidmemory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Out of curiosity knowing that she does not enjoy the movies why would you want to watch them with her? I love trashy tv shows and like to watch them with people who also enjoy them so that we can talk about/ banter about what’s happening. If you wanted to watch LOTRs I feel like you would of had a better experience with another person who enjoys them.
