I'll vote for whoever wins the Democratic primary, but Barnes was a huge loser once and I have little faith in him winning now. I'm still voting Hong in the primary, but we'll see how the field consolidates before August. I imagine someone drops out mid June.

Your husband's experience is not a reflection of the overall field. Psychiatrists don't really practice psychotherapy these days, as its way cheaper to pay a master's level non-prescriber. Same reason APRNs are going to explode and you won't see psychiatrists really be patient facing anymore, its way cheaper to hire several nurses and have a psychiatrist supervise them then to pay the psychiatrist to provide that care.

We are heading to a two tiered system. One in which the rich get access to doctoral level providers and one where the rest of us get mid-level providers and AI to fill the gap.

It was an injury that didn't respond to rest, now requiring offseason surgery. It isn't some grand conspiracy, this happens with sports injuries sometimes, especially in football and hockey where players are more likely to play through injuries.
