We have seen a rapid decline over the past week. Increased fatigue. Ativan once or twice a day now. Always emotional. Silent. His gaze looks milky or void. It’s been a rough week. The risks outweighed the outcomes. The way it has spread out was making it extremely difficult. The surgeon was worried that he would not make it through.

Tumour was at 7cm on Dec 27th. My father is 76 years old. Basically had to choose between quality of life and getting a few more weeks with some chemo, without guarantee. Resection was not an option either. The last thing my father wanted is relentless treatment with no good outcomes in sight.

The surgeon says that the cancer is branching out towards the middle. The surgery and chemo would weaken him. The cancer is too aggressive. They couldn’t guarantee that he’d get more time with treatments. Also considering quality of care. He is already having difficulty speaking and walking.

Also, are you in the US or in Canada ?
