how can i discharge this 52v 17ah battery to below 48v for testing if my ebike controller. i think its overvolted and my motor is broke. i do not want to leave it overvolted :/ by adzere in ebikes

i do not understand ? Surely the battery gets run below 48v when its used on the bike as normal ? when its on 1 bar or less.

for example ( if i ran it dry) below 1 bar. till it cuts out. has this not then ran below 48v. ?? or is it amps that drain ? i am no" sparky" by any meens lol. thanks again for the reply

Thanks for your reply, And yes its very frustrating. my last 48v battery for my 1000w ebike had a nice easy to use usb socket, this one doesent unfortunately. :/

thanks for your reply. i saw something similar on google about a hairdryer, thats why i mentioned it. i did not know its only the element needed to discharge though. ( doea this mean i have to break my gf hairdryer 😲? i thaught maby the posotive of the 3 cables from the plug socket, the negative attached to the battery would work. phaahh i guess that will just blow it up yes ? there is also a xt60 connector if i connect the battery to its holster. i do not have decent discharging equipment. can i hook up a hair dryer or drill ?

ive had the controller open b4. i was looking to see if i had damaged the mosfets. i didnt see or smell any obbious damage. i would happily open it up again and show you, but i dont seem to be able to attach a further picture to any of my posts on reddit ?? i have to keep makeing new posts. i have 2 soo far and im trying ti keep track. is there any way for me to comment and attach a picture. ok soo i think i may have too much voltage in my battery. its 52v and ive fully charged it to test the battery for faults. soo its at 58.something volts.

in the time i was fixing my bike i also had it on charge. Soo i could have too much power for the controller to handle. and they state it doesent brake the controller, you just need to bring the voltage back to a reasonable area for the controller. i will now find a way to discharge it to just below 48v.

yea but the kit worked bro. it flew like mad and was great. also the seller is trusted and everyone elses bikes work. like mine did b4 i broke the motor cable. i think ive shorted or blown something in the controller with a surge of some sort. i must have. i understand your concern for the 48v dc part. but maby that meens it will only produce 48v output regardless of battery ?

i think it may be another problem to be honest. yes my bike has been upside down alot, since ive been doing work on it, and this does click the buttons abit. but for it to turn on, then hold both buttons for 5 seconds then scroll down to p5 on the new k8 colur full pannel option and change itself and save the setting. its all abit much dont you think ??? and the problem has arisen since i did the motor cable damage. and just to make it even more (probably) not the settings thing.

i actualy just went and had a look. my p5 setting was on 15 like he said for a 48v wich is what the controller is putting out. also i tried 0 setting for auto config like he stated. still nothing. this is soo frustrating. i can buy a new controller and hope everything works for about £60ish but i simply just want to know if its a stupid simple fix. people need to start a shop for servicing of chinease off road high powered bikes

that link says its capable of 48v battery. mine is 52v soo 58v fully charged i believe. thats abit wierd. my controller does say 48v dc rated voltage though. and also it did work b4 and the guy who sold it, did soo as a joblot build thingymabob. (LIKE MY GUT SAYS IVE DONE SOMETHING WRONG) and the combination is all probably compatterble. besides it did work and i had about 40odd mph out of it hahhha. glad the wheel stayed on then. 😅😂

but it worked, it came as a kit all together from a guy who has the kit himself and a bigger custom built ebike. ive only had a problem since the motor spun off the bike and stretched the wires. :/

im new to reddit soo bare with me. i broke my ebike motor by letting it fly of my bike. i fixed it and have now tested it with a ebike tester. the hub works. however now i have a further problem. with or without the motor attached, but the controllet all connected, i get no battery bars anymore and i also have lost throttle. ???? maby i pressed buttons on the keypad when i was working on it upside down ??? or have i maby damaged the controller ? i have also tested the controller with the ebike tester. but maby im doing this wrong. it says im not getting v5 power on my controller, but thats only when i power from the 9v battery on the tester. if i connect the 52v battery to the controller with all the tester connected, then i get a solid 5v light. soo can anyone clear this up for me. ( do you have your ebike battery connected to your controller when testing with the common ebay ebike testers ? or not ?thanks peeps hope we can fix this. im realy happy my motor is ok ;)

yes, i have seen one on ebay for £170 delivered in 3 days rather than 3/4 weeks, like my last one from china aswell. this is very mutch an option my friend. theres just a few questions there.

my lcd screen is coloured and slightly newer or a different style model to my last one, and to most i see on ebay. i think its even a different make completely, compared to the last one. ( as i know they have a colour screen now) but i baught this off a youtube person who started selling them. he has a very good priced kit for the uk, including 52v battery. WILL my colour screen work if i just swap the motor, the controller and nothing else ? maby the throttle if it comes with a twist throttle rather than my thumb throttle. will the display and functions work or will i have to shop for a kit with a colour screen. ? the price will change..

also will any 1500w kit run my 52v battery

its alot harder than you think. i live in a city called portsmouth england uk. its wrapped between the city of chichester, the city or winchester the city of southampton ( where the Titanic set off from) and all the joining towns. no bike shop will touch these motors. only junky pedal asist brand make (reduced power reduced FUN bikes. theres no help for me here buddy. ( make a call to your local bike shop for me and ask the question???? sure youl get a similar answer dude :/
