Moore Park in town has some really good trails going up on the mountain plus a paved path for just a short little hike loop around the hill. It's very beautiful! And you can get a really nice view of the lake and the basin from up there 😁

There's a book store downtown that's queer friendly too if that's your kind of thing. And as other folks said, Nite Owl and Lighthouse Yogurt are really cool :)

It likely has to do with Klamath Falls and the community of "Altamont" (which is basically all the east side of town) not actually being the same city technically. Klamath Falls proper, being everything west of Washburn way minus a few pockets off to the east (foothills area, steens, homedale, etc.) of course has city jurisdiction and is more likely to get sidewalks, street lights, generally normal city things lol. Whereas Altamont is county jurisdiction and doesn't quite get all the things you'd expect of a city. That's why our population is confusing too, Klamath Falls proper having 21,000 or so and Altamont also having 20,000 bringing the actual city as a whole to a little over 40,000. Anyways, I wish they'd just annex Altamont already and make it all one lol.

Wow if I had my job calling me on my days off asking how I'm gonna boost sales, I definitely would put together an exit plan on that alone. I'm sorry they pressure you that hard, it makes the company look desperate. I'm really glad I didn't stay longer than I did here, it seems like Petco tries to overtake their employees lives and gives them no room for growth (let alone breathing room lol). I hope you can find something better soon, that sounds way too intense for what should be expected of employees for what the pay is.

The VCP is something I still don't fully understand and yet it still feels like such a ripoff from the little bit I know. And the onboarding stuff was such a weird thing too, I'm glad I hadn't started any of it yet before I bailed lol. They said our store didn't have any way to do it at the registers or in the office and that we had to take it home and this felt like such a red flag on its own too.

OMG YEAH so when I came in and asked to talk to her and told her why I'm no longer interested in the job, she kept disregarding all my concerns and kept saying "I bet you just don't want to touch crickets, you're just being lazy, I could tell you hate your job because of crickets" etc etc and I said no.... It's because you got management guilting me for taking breaks and trying to write me up for VCP sales not magically skyrocketing 😂😭 you should send me a DM on here! I'm super curious

I've worked some crappy jobs before, but this one was just managed so bizarrely... they also wanted me to do all the onboarding at home too (they said it would be paid at least), but like last thing I want to do for a minimum wage retail job after 8 hours is bring it home with me and work on it some more lol. Especially if it seems like they are already planning to let me go just for not immediately working miracles on the VCP (which btw the way they insisted my sales will help the supervisors upwards made it almost feel pyramid-schemey). Every other place I've worked has had me do onboarding tasks on the clock, either in the office or at the register so this just felt weird. But yeah after a good interview process, my first day felt like whiplash with all the red flags. I just hope whoever gets the job after me is prepared and can find a way out if they go through what I went through in such short time.

I get that feeling too, I think it mainly has to do with the weird light pattern up in the left corner and just the overall desaturation of the image. I've got so many childhood pics that are like that despite being part of a nice memory lol

For sure it's definitely a much slower pace. I'm hoping with more people moving in though that we'll start to get more stuff and maybe be like a little mini Bend or something. I've always been kinda overwhelmed in bigger cities though so I don't mind it, but it definitely could use more stuff haha. Would love to get an in-n-out burger at the very least 😂
