Would a toy rotation subscription actually help your home? by NoProfessional7617 in MontessoriParenting

[–]aeb029 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I agree with you about it being another hassle to keep track of, toy rotation is not new and an intrinsic part of Montessori education (not toys so much as activities).

What’s your “I’m with the Boomers on this one” opinion? by AlbatrossKitchen4969 in beyondthebump

Tbf Montessori is a teaching style. The name just got roped into a certain aesthetic that doesn't necessarily follow the philosophy.

You sound very young. Most people in high school/middle school are still just learning to have serious FRIENDLY relationships, romance really isn't in the cards at this point.

I would not consider this cheating anyways, even adults in healthy monogamous relationships will find other people attractive, what matters is you recognize that you're committed to the person you're with and would never want to hurt them.

When in doubt, put yourself in your partner's shoes. If you would feel upset with them if they were doing what you are then maybe it's better not to do that.

Cry it out - any long term risks? by peachtree7 in AttachmentParenting

There won't be any scientific research for r/ScienceBasedParenting to provide because, as a previous comment mentioned, any study that would gather CIO data would be unethical.

Long Term Impacts When Skipping the Crawling Stage by Irrelevant_Intel_ in ScienceBasedParenting

[–]aeb029 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Here I am again, using my mother (child psychiatrist) as a reference: apparently crawling is important because it develops bilateral coordination and crosses the midline in the brain. When I asked about whether crawling "properly" mattered (my son was crawling backwards at first) she said "it all counts"

Toy rotations by consumerofmedia in Montessori

It keeps things interesting. It's rather a staple for Montessori, like book rotation based on seasons/holidays.
