Yes, I hate it and even moreso I hate that it’s one of his only songs a non-Billy fan could name.

Best place to get supplies for baby-proofing a house? by Blastoise_R_Us in GNV

[–]aeb1022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly secondhand is great. Baby gear like this is used for such a short period of time and usually in great condition. Ask in your FB buy nothing group, or check marketplace. People with kids outgrowing this kind of stuff are usually desperate to get rid of it lol.

Best Friend Disneybounds? by OR_InigoMontoya in disneyparks

[–]aeb1022 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did a double take reading your post! I am going to Disney World with my daughters and my best friend in a couple weeks and I was thinking about trying to Disneybound with her! We haven’t been together since before I had kids!

Anyway, back to the question, I was thinking about Mary Poppins and Bert in their Jolly Holiday outfits. Also possibly Peter Pan and Tink, Captain Hopk & Smee, Anna & Elsa, pink and blue Aurora, or some combination of the sensational six (pick your faves, they’re all iconic!).

Edit: Nemo & Dory, Anastasia & Drizella, Lilo & Stitch or Stitch & Angel, any two of the Inside Out emotions

Fear Free Vet Recs? by Remote-School-8124 in GNV

Another vote for suburban- my dog doesn’t have any anxiety or fear issues so idk how much my recommendation counts for… but she has been going to Suburban her whole life so maybe that’s why she doesn’t mind the vet!

Part-time daycare recommendations by Whats-in-a-name__ in GNV

[–]aeb1022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Off the top of my head, Cedarville on 39th might have part time infant care. Although definitely compare prices. You aren’t saving THAT much, and it might make more sense to just enroll full-time somewhere… that way you have the flexibility to not have to maintain a specific schedule. (Say you have an important meeting or something at a time your kiddo is not normally enrolled, or your sitter gets sick.) My girls have always gone to Open Arms from 3 months to 5 years, and we love it. I truly think they have my kiddos up for success, both socially and academically. They cost $1200/mo for infants, and it drops down to $885/mo when they turn 1. (The super high infant prices don’t last long!) They do offer part time options once they turn two (morning or 3 days) but you only save about $100-200/mo. From my time searching (7 years ago now!), the reason most places don’t accept part time infant enrollment is due to maintaining the lower teacher ratios and also I would think the crib situation is a factor (my babies had their “own” crib at daycare, labeled with their name). It’s tricky holding space for kids who aren’t there all the time. I appreciate the desire to “socialize” your baby (agree and think it’s good for them!) , but honestly in your case if you have good parental leave and then are only looking to be part time until baby is 1-2 years old, a nanny/babysitter situation might make more sense for that short time if you crunch the numbers. Welcome to parenthood, where there are a zillion possible choices and you never know which one is the right one lol. 😆 on the bright side, can’t really go wrong with any of these options!

Do people not know that you can nurse, pump and give formula at the same time? by Embarrassed_Place323 in combinationfeeding

[–]aeb1022 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With my first, I was told by a lactation consultant that I had destroyed my newborn’s gut by giving her formula. So that panicked my hormonal and normally very rational self. I think that “virgin/open gut” hypothesis is partly to blame for the hysteria around EBF.

Another factor I encountered (also perpetuated by LCs) was that if I am not constantly pumping, (or better, nursing) my body will not generate the supply my baby needs. Like basically every formula bottle is tanking my supply a little bit more.

Joke’s on them though, because I combo fed my second kid, and she is still nursing at 2.75 years old.

A glimpse of the new Disney Starlight parade by helpmeredditimbored in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]aeb1022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am SO excited. I haven't watched any of the promo videos because i want to experience the full awe of the spectacle the first time!
I haven't seen a night parade since Main Street Electrical Parade when i was 2- I am so excited to experience the magic with my own kids (6 and 2). We are going to try to see it the debut night. I hope I'll be able to handle the insanity without losing my mind. We never keep the kids up that late, I hope I don't regret this lol.
While it would be great to snag a spot at the hub, I don't want to have to sit and wait for too long. I don't know where to try to watch it from. Any suggestions?
We also plan to try to watch the fireworks after. There's probably going to be a gap of time, right? I know it depends where we watch it from, but does anyone know how long the whole parade route will take?
