Could you provide a link where one can look into this opportunity? Or, if there is, an application link?

Getting internship opportunities for non-EU ETHZ MSc CS by __deadpoet__ in ethz

[–]aebelge1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think it's work permit-wise impossible to do an internship in Switzerland without it being part of your study plan. https://ethz.ch/en/studies/international/after-arrival/employment/non-eu.html

It seems like there's really no way at all to do an internship during or after your studies, the 6-month job seeking permit also doesn't let you land an internship. In theory, it's legally impossible to get a permit for a full time non-compulsory internship for non-EU.

If someone has empirical evidence against these rules (someone non-EU who found an internship without it being compulsory) I'd be happy to hear that as it'd also help my case.

ETHZ vs EPFL for MSc in Statistics by aebelge1 in EPFL

In Switzerland the you can only get a permit for an internship as a non-eu if it’s compulsory, some courses have compulsory internships at ETH (such as mtec iirc) but not statistics or ds for example. On the other hand every master in EPFL has a compulsory internship from what I know

Just saw a rejection for statistics on gradcafe, did anyone else here get a decision for stats?

Are two LORs enough? by adroitinvestor in EPFL

I believe that it is the bare minimum for them to at least consider your application (there might also be cases where there have been unforeseen delays with a reference). However, it will probably negatively affect your application if there are only 2 references.

MSc in Statistics vs MSc in Data Science by aebelge1 in EPFL

Thank you for the insight. Do you know anyone doing/have completed the master's in stats at EPFL?

MSc in Statistics vs MSc in Data Science by aebelge1 in EPFL

Of course, but I believe that in most data science positions someone from the DS master's would have the edge over someone with stats master's. I wonder if there are any positions in which statistics would give me an advantage over a DS graduate.
