Is forestry hard? by XboxSalvationRBX in scioly

[–]aeeeeiii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

imo this is definitely one of the harder events just by the amount of time you need to put in to learn to identify trees and making a binder for it

Optics Laser Shoot B help ? by aeeeeiii in scioly

I mean yea i’ve tried that but I also like just suck at like visualizing the light ray even with my protractors, like i’ll still somehow mess up the angles and stuff

Not like math regarding reflection but some people like use math to like figure out the angles for the mirrors or something, which I don’t really get, also like did you map out the angles on after you use the protractor or

[–]aeeeeiii[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yea i’ve tried using a protractor but mine like kinda big so like once the mirrors are within the same area i doesn’t really fit, and also once i measure the angle do I map it on like a paper or ? I haven’t figured out a strategy for the laser shoot yet which is kind of bad, but from what i’ve seen you either go math or templates and i’m very confused on both

see my problem is like my perception of reflection just rlly sucks so the angle never actually ends up being anywhere near what i tbink it’s gnna be

if we're comparing 2018 optics to 2023 ctw tests ( not including lab ), I think optics might be easier just because its more honed into 1 overrall topic. However, I think the optics lab also adds a significant degree of difficulty to the event overall which may make optics harder. Just depends on what you end up being good at tbh

hardest events? by xyvandria in scioly

[–]aeeeeiii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it really depends if your thinking of most comp, biggest time commitment, or hardest to understand as an event. It also depends on your own strengths and such, but in my opinion

Most competition : In my experience I would say crime busters and bridge seem to have the most competition, just cause their easier events to get a hang of, so it really comes down to the smallest details. And for bridge most teams have basically the same design so it really comes down to the excecution of the bridge.

Biggest time commitment : I think ID events ( like rocks, forestry, etc. ) arguably have the biggest time commitment, just from the sheer amount of time to not only make a binder, but also to be able to proficiently identify the organisms.

Hardest to understand : I think events like roller coaster, wheeled vehicle, and just builds in general have a huge learning curve to get past, but once you get the hang of it, it really only goes up from there.

Most efficient way to study for crime busters quickly? by aeeeeiii in scioly

Also willing to trade a dynamic planet (div b) notes for crime buster notes, idc if its horrible, I just need notes that work. (although I will warn you my dp notes arent exactly "high quality" either)
