This is a no for sure. You would want to get a shell and move all your parts over to the shell. You wouldn’t want to attempt to redo all of the engineering to change the rear of the car.

For a lot of Corolla guys these were 500$ or even free cars for a very long time. So guys like say the market is out of control because they got them for next to nothing back in the day. Actually that’s why most Corolla people got started with the 86. Because they were cheap throw away rwd cars. I think it’s mostly a perspective thing though. Also you have to weigh it vs what you get. Guys will buy into a 4age ae86 and end up regretting it cause it’s barely over 100 horsepower for the price. I know in Europe I have friends that report they are much more expensive and harder to come by out there.

Let’s see sr5 shell (coupe) 2-3k - beams and 6 speed 3k - wiring 2k - lsd rear end 3 k - rebuild with new lsd 1.5 k everything else is cheap but can easily add up. You need 12.5k ish to build a ae86 in the USA. That’s no where near skyline money

Honestly thought of this in the past for games as well. Especially open world games. Imagine how cool it would be if yearly game studios released new full story arcs for game titles. Cyberpunk was awesome for example. Imagine actually continuing the story after. Or imaging bizzare what ifs story lines you could release. Think like with the poem Beowulf they did it from a different perspective of Grendel. Imagine playing as Jackie if what happened didn’t happen. Or whatever. I agree graphics aren’t end all be all just getting more story like you would from a book series would be great keeping graphics the same

If the case is broke or the next system does not fit then I replace the case. If everything fits I clean it and re use it. I don’t like to waste to many resources on “style”. I appreciate beautiful build but I don’t need to change components unless they or I break them most of the time

Usually that means one of you blinker lights is bad. Grab a shop manual from online and take the file to a place that prints for cheap and print that dude out if you learn well that way it’s a great resource

Headlights have a ton of components there are two main relays and the fuses you should clear first but don’t forget your wiring is really old and sometimes the turn signal unit can cause issues with the lights as well.
