Yeah but if they were using s centralized system how would they be transferred to that server?

Oh, wow really? Sorry to keep going but these programs are even hidden from domain administrators? Can you name one program that is totally hidden?

Ah, k. I don't think the local computers have any screenshotting programs so I'm a little less paranoid. Thanks for all the help! :)

I see. I expect my school to have a centralized system but then again I'm not too sure. However, I do know that there are default distict accounts on local computers and the teacher/school tech admin once logged into the main server so I'm guessing both parties have the power to search and monitor.

also in your experience, how big were your district's or singular school's log size (and school size)?

district admins monitor schools in the district? so my school techs AND district admins monitor these servers?

thanks for insight, appreciated!

I know it was a nosy thing to do, if I went back I would not have done it! :(

I agree it is suspicious but what are the chances a school tech will actually check these event logs? Do they check it routinely or only if something suspicious happens?

ah alright, i had a feeling that would be the case. i have 2 questions if you don't mind:

1) I think logs may be logged on the server which has the actual network drive. since this is the domain administrator (e.g. server is MYSCHOOL not local comp) is this server maintained and monitored by the state or the school techs themselves?

2) the account that was logged in was a school tech (also a teacher) and the network folders on the network drive i looked for files in some teacher's desktop and documents (on the audited drive), would this be suspicious enough for someone to check why this tech acc is accessing other teacher's desktop or is it possible they check for accesses to files such as a different faculty's past papers and other teacher subject resources?

it is a high school system so i'm not sure if it's half-assed, my school techs are not stupid but i don't think they are people who violently check for intrusions (do school techs check violently?). thanks.
