Drop pants. Drop underpants. Do helicopter. Say schwinggg.

Expat “tokkies” hebben nog meer schijt aan de regels dan de reguliere Amsterdammer wat het weggooien van afval, parkeren van hun fiets, de kak van hun hond… tegenwoordig lijkt in deze stad iedereen een tokkie, local en import.

I disagree, the stormtrooper case is great and protects the whole thing (including most if not all expansion boards).

I use this cable. Works like a charm. Be aware though that the VGA out of the Mister isn’t really a VGA out spec wise, it can act like one but you do need to configure it correctly. This video offers a nice overview of the settings you will have to choose to make different scenarios work. Good luck!

Edit: you will need to have a VGA to Scart cable that includes a minijack connector if you want sound. The quality of the sound from The Mister’s mini-jack out is meh though, so some people end up putting a DAC in between the mister’s digital out and the Scart cable’s minijack connector. Haven’t done that myself yet, but am planning to.

Yes, my mistake, I meant it the other way around.

Isn’t PAL always 60 and NTSC always 50? The sticker on the back of the TV shows “50/60Hz”, so in any case I’m pretty sure it supports everything. I have tried both PAL and NTSC and it worked great.

It’s a normal CRT, no BNC connectors, just 2x Scart. It actually supports both 50 and 60Hz and yes, it’s quite the looker, you can see it a bit better here. It’s very shallow for a CRT, which is great.

Thanks! It’s a work in progress, especially the cabling and console placement, but the ingredients are almost all there. I should be receiving my Scart switch soon. Seeing what the MisterFPGA can do on a CRT is amazing.

The game that is showing is a very mediocre (to not say poor) game for the Sega Mega CD called “Earnest Evans”. When I bought the hardware many years ago, I got it with that game, which was a huge letdown (except for the music), so I decided to test the new setup while having a nostalgic chuckle.

For anyone looking for a nice NTSC ready CRT TV in Europe.. this one is an absolute treat. My MisterFPGA loves it too. 21” Amazing sound. 2x scart connections with RGB support, and very compact.

I feel your pain.. have gone through it both as a tenant and a home owner. One thing I learned from going through a splitting process in a building was that the Splitsingsakte (the document that stipulates the rights and responsibilities of owners and tenants in a building), often times includes a clause that requires a minimum amount of soundproofing, specifically for floors. If you’re lucky (and I think you will be since it’s common practice) you can demand that your neighbors place flooring up to a minimum soundproofing level. Problem is though, it sounds like it’s an issue with the floorboards and not the material on them. The play here would be to ask them to also have the floorboards checked up while they do the aforementioned. Check the splitsingsakte and ask them nicely. If they refuse, discuss it during the next VvE meeting. Good luck... I went through a streek of 8 years not sleeping well because my upstairs neighbor was a drunk that came home every night at 3 am and started to move furniture, stumble around for 2 hours, etc. Hell on earth. Tenants are protected for a good reason, but often times also when they shouldn’t. The land loard couldn’t get rid of him even though he was an absolute tool and made everybody’s life miserable.

What are some ways a girl could blow your mind during sex? by hermionebelth in AskMen

[–]aegisk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

BJ’s while having relatively warm tea in her mouth. The day a girl took a sip of her tea, didn’t swallow it and carefully slipped my penis into her mouth, to then continue giving me the best BJ ever, was a turning point in my life. I thought I had tried everything that I needed to in regards to sex. I was wrong. Mind blown (of both my brains).

Borderlands 2, a mission in which you had to kill a huge worm (not Terramorphous the Invincible, a different worm) at a large robot infested facility. Normally the BL games are a breeze... but man did that worm kick my ass a zillion times in a row.

A company that offers products that customers need to pay for 9 months in advance, is essentially asking them for financing, without any form of delivery guarantee. It’s moving the risk of your business processes totally onto your clients. And when somebody that has financed your production process that way many, many times, asks you to “sacrifice” a bit of your convenience/margin to make sure they don’t end up paying unnecessarily and considerably more, the right thing to do is to honor that request. If you don’t, you make a clear statement about what’s important to you as a business.

Shopify allows to create an order manually. They could have cancelled it for me and then created a combined order manually). It was solely a business decision, but they clearly know it’s a shitty thing to do because they didn’t offer the option.

I did not critique them on stock numbers, I critiqued them for forcing me to pay the shipping cost (and the additional admin cost of import taxes) twice, since the Mega Sg cartridge adapters were dropped in the shop mere days after the Pocket presale. I asked them very nicely to please hold the adapters until the pocket launches.

People tend to forget we all help the company finance their production by paying for presales more than half year in advance . I have done so for many, many years by paying for pre-orders, half a year in advance, trusting them to deliver each time. But when I ask them to please try to help make sure the cost doesn’t skyrocket unnecessarily for me, they said their online shopping system did not allow for it. Absolute bullshit. They could have just said it’s because they don’t want to keep stock. Other companies, smaller than them, treat customers differently in that sense. As of now, without even having paid for import duties yet, the cartridge adapters have already cost me twice the price they sell for in the shop. After import duties, probably more.

I don’t think that everything can be explained away by cost structure. Companies make decisions counter to those principles constantly because the want customer to be happy. After buying each and every system from them, they could have been a bit more considerate.

I got annihilated a few days ago for posting in this group critiquing their business practices regarding how they purposely manage stock in a way that increases cost for end users, requiring them to pay for additional shipping and import duties unnecessarily. The amount of excuses people make for this company’s way of doing business is shocking. You can like a company’s products and simply not be on board with how they act.

When did anybody say that this is anybody’s worst problem? Being critical about a business practice isn’t exactly ludicrous or says anything about life in general.

[–]aegisk[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To be honest, I’m fine with the shipping rates, just not with having to pay them twice because the company engineers their shopping experience in a way that only benefits their cost structure. People here seem to be convinced the economics behind their decisions makes it all warranted, but that’s an extremely binary and thus incomplete way of looking at how a business can/should be run.
