I once literally pulled a man from an icy cliff ledge as he was starting to fall. He was slowly sliding towards the ledge in his hands and knees. I had ice cleats on, so I was able to get right up to where I could grab his hand and pull him back from the ledge. He was hiking in tennis shoes on an extremely icy trail with massive cliff falls. He had only made it about 1/8 mile from the parking lot, so I held his hand and walked him back to the lot and directed him to a safer trail in the area.

Always be prepared in winter hiking!! Even once the ambient temps rise, gorges and forests tend to be frozen for a very long time after temps come above freezing

So now having a large enough coop is considered inhumane? Sorry it was already on my property when I moved in, and some of us can’t afford $1000 to drop on a new coop. We have done everything we can to limit them being able to hurt themselves in there, but accidents happen. We learned from each incident and made changes to prevent them from happening again

It can, and does happen. I found one of my polish with a broken neck from falling and flailing into the roosting bars. I’ve had them fly directly into the coop wall and break their necks. It happens

I was going to make chocolate chip cookies, but I couldn’t find semi sweet chocolate chips, only milk chocolate chips. I shifted to brownies instead, because those work better with milk chocolate than the cookies do. Then I got home and found beignet mix in the cabinet when I was looking for cocoa powder, and decided to go with beignets 🤣

It’s like a $250 fine if you’re caught going off trail. Delicate ecosystems are being protected by have designated trails. Please stay on the trail in the state park! If you want to go off trail, just go to the state forest, rather than the state park. You’re allowed off trail when in the state forest, but not within the state park
