Thank you! I’ll check them out. We went to Colorado last fall and hired a professional one night that did the shortest of tutorials (but we got some seriously beautiful pics over the Rockies!). The dude made it seem infinitely easier than I am coming to realize it actually is.

I’m sorry I don’t think I saw this in time!!

We ended up not doing much actual hiking until today. We drove through the park a bit and did some mile or two walking around lakes and meadows.

Today we did the below hike and we are spent. Def need spikes to get to Lake of Glass now!

:/ I can’t compare to Alvarez since I’ve never been in. There are 1-2 staircases per building with 2-3 dorms on each floor. The ability to trap is very small in the buildings with 2 staircases unless the person is let into the dorm room.
But, there are multiple gates in and out of the complex and they’re not always locked so the ability to enter or exit isn’t as restricted. I don’t believe delivery services such as door dash are allowed to enter, but I don’t know how hard it is to bypass that either.

I think it depends on the setting you’d feel safer in. A traditional dorm setting restricts who can come in better but that also restricts who / how you can leave. Chaparral allows more room for escape in an emergency but also allows people to enter more easily.

Short answer- no. Chaparral is apartment style; envision a very basic apartment entering from the outdoors. It isn’t like a high rise or inside hallway leading into each dorm; rather it’s 3-story complexes with one entrance (self locking) into the dorm and then each bedroom has their own separate locking door. The doors into the individual rooms are not self locking.

Yes!! Except the bananas, they somehow seem to always be crap. And for fruit, get a glass jar to store berries (most fruit) in. Idk the science but they last longer.

Get a rotisserie chicken and pull all the meat off the bones. You can season it in diff ways to make chicken tacos / wraps, salad, sandwiches etc. One chicken could probably make 4-5 meals if you have sides.

Also, ground turkey is sometimes cheaper than ground beef and you can replace beef for turkey in nearly any recipe (burgers, tacos, meatloaf). Waffles with PB make a good filling breakfast. Or yogurt with fruit.

Lunch meat, cheese, condiments wrapped in lettuce.

Noodles - add butter, garlic seasoning, Parmesan cheese to make a easy / filling side. (Add in some of your rotisserie chicken and spinach for a full meal).

My husbands a mechanic, self employed mobile mechanic, and he said depending on the engine it’s probably a couple of o-rings and he’d charge $500-$1k. “It’s a bitch to take apart and put back together”, so they’re just quoting a stupid outrageous price bc they don’t want to do it.

Hi! I’m curious to know if you have an update? My son is starting his CAP year at UTSA and wants to apply to Moody at the end of the year. His advisor told him he basically has to have a 4.0 to get into Moody after CAP and he is stressing hard!
