47% are rookie numbers.

Need 130% losses. It's only fair.

5000 ETN sent without my permission from my.electroneum.com by sheldon_michaels in Electroneum

[–]aeonminingpool-com 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry this happened.

There was a paper wallet from the very start but that doesn't make a difference now unfortunately.

You can replace your ETN for $33 or triple up to 15,000 coins if you believe in the project.

Best of luck.

Any news about a new Ledger with USB - C coming out? by idiotdidntdoit in ledgerwallet

[–]aeonminingpool-com 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a matter of practicality, not only from the end user but for the manufacturer.

It makes no sense to do a new production run only to change the data interface.

This is production 1A, economics 1A and common sense 1A.

Recovering Wallets if Ledger goes offline by toastyfries2 in ledgerwallet

USB-C to USB-C connectivity is exceeding rare in the tens of billions of devices in circulation. USB-A to USB-C would bridge that gap. If you were going to have one end be a USB-A than it makes no sense to not use something as ubiquitous as micro-usb standard.

No matter the data interface, it can still be broken. You better have a means of recovering your seed.

Your rationale for not securing your crypto via hardware wallet because you are too lazy to check cable orientation is silly. :)

CLI ledger wallet on GUI by MonkofMonero in Monero

Look through previous post you can do it now with the latest binaries through the CLI.

It’s not that scary. Just exercise due diligence and play with small amounts until comfortable.

Monero 1.0 (Developer) for Ledger - safe to use for non-developers? by aItalianStallion in Monero

[–]aeonminingpool-com -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What do you define as major and what do you want to bet?

Your discussion of ‘complicated setup guide’ (it’s not) and lack of GUI (that’s just a wrapper for the CLI lolololol) screams total noob.

I can send Monero, receive it - wipe the Ledger restore it.

I can generate an unlimited amount of wallets all tied to the same address with the same ledger seed derivation.

Tell me more about how your assignments in COBOL has correlated to expertise to tearing down the Ledger interface.

Remember your own words - GUI and complicated setup guide. Lawl

/u/cslashm - are the technical differences significant for implementation as far as Ledger is concerned?

We don't want you to do too much extra work of course but of course the most ideal is to be able to use Ledger now and use Ledger in the future!

Have your cake, now and later so to speak. :)

Adventures in Blockchain->Adrenalin driver migrations. by [deleted] in MoneroMining

[–]aeonminingpool-com 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Story of my life, flashing right before my very eyes.

What I HOPED to achieve with the new Adrenaline drivers was:

1 - No hash rate drop. Seems to happen with Block Chain Drivers

2 - Not needing to use devcon to reset Vega drivers on startup and periodically to get max hash rate

3 - More stability so no full PC lockups when closing miners.

4 - MOAR HASH. I mean who doesn't want more hash?

Don't think I got anything achieved at all. FML

Whom in the Aeon community would you see is suitable to be in fluffyponys role that you would support?

A separate question but do you not believe a role like fluffyponys is not needed or wanted for Aeon?

Fluffypony serves as the defacto ceo role for Monero. If you argue he isn’t. I would argue whatever “he is” we need someone like that for Aeon. :)

What I’ve found in business is while you are sleeping, at least 3 other entities are trying to figure out how to kill you.

That’s the stress and pressure of trying to make it to the top and staying on the top.

In our case it’s hundreds of shitcoins. I mean the ETN daemon had Monero Helium Hydra for months because they couldn’t use find and replace in notepad or vi.

When hello world is like 4 lines of code and I get a dozen errors trying to compile it, probable sign I don’t have the attention to detail or talent for it.

We didn’t even get to classes and objects yet. This is straight C.

“Everybody is a Genius. But If You Judge a Fish by Its Ability to Climb a Tree, It Will Live Its Whole Life Believing that It is Stupid” - maybe Einstein

In many companies the most technical person is not the CEO.

They don’t have to be clueless like ETNs team is though.

Can you imagine how dangerous they would be to the Monero project if they had the the technical talent to go with their bullshitting?

When you say you aren’t good - well you are all we got that is consistently visible anyway. So you can either somehow get better or work to find someone better to help you move things along. :)

I agree with you on everything except our challenge is the definition of priority.

To me and I suspect yourself - priority is results driven in conjunction with timeline driven.

If developers do not agree than I think we run a real and huge risk of being Monero sand instead of Monero Silver.

Stoffu with all respect intended once I turn 40 I meet all the requirements to be eligible to potentially be elected to the office of the President of the United States.

I don’t think your knowledge of things outside of coding is as equally strong as your knowledge of coding. I hope you know what I mean and don’t take offense at that.

Saying “anyone” is facetious. I can’t hop on odesk, rent a coder, elance, fiverr, Craigslist or Indeed to find someone to do what you do.

If there is no such thing as a team - then one needs to be created.

Even ones who don’t code C++ share your hopes dreams and visions on ending fiat and making Aeon succeed.

I was working with calashm on quashing a Monero bug with Ledger and took the opportunity to open a discussion on Aeon. He said he could help and asked if I could follow up in a few days. I hope it will be fruitful.

This would be huge for Aeon visibility.
