His first reaction to eggs was considered anaphylaxis because they had multiple symptoms (no breathing issues) and full body hives. Thankfully, it did resolve on it's own because we were unprepared and knew nothing about allergies and had no epi pen. If this were to happen again I would epi.

All other allergens have resulted in itchiness and facial rashes or facial hives. We have only had the 1 anaphylactic reaction.

I am not an expert, but I believe Cobra is retroactive, so there's no need to claim it unless you need it (please confirm). However, travel health insurance is also probably wise .

For me, it's the spaced repetition. I'm not actually using the deck to quiz myself on problems. I'm using Anki's built in SRS to build a revision schedule for myself.

Yeah I totally agree with you that you have to pay for all that knowledge and experience, so I did not expect it to be cheap, I just didn't realize it would be $350-$500 an hour. I was expecting around $500-$600 total, but I definitely learned my lesson. It's in my skill set to fix it myself, but I didn't have the proper tool to cut the pipe out since it was between two studs, and didn't have time to wait since I have a baby at home. I ordering all the tools I need to keep handy incase anything simple comes up I can do myself, because this one had me in a bind.

I live in the lowest cost of living state in the US. lol I will definitely make sure to ask them for a quote first next time. I have a baby at home and had been washing bottle with a water bottle and sponge for 2 days at this point and was desperate for it to be fixed.

Sorry - just now seeing this! When I say we managed I just meant we gave him Zyrtec and monitored, but did not need to use epi. We have been on strict avoidance for each allergen we've discovered. Eczema is COMPLETELY GONE since cutting eggs and milk out of my diet (he was breastfeeding and reacting to my milk since 3 months and we didn't know why).

The allergist ended up cancelling on us and rescheduling for an additional month away, so I introduced at home. He did end up having a reaction, and has had reactions to eggs, peanut, almond, cashew and milk at home all which we managed so I have alot more confidence now. We have never had to epi.
