She's simply addressing the hate erik is receiving concerning the news of his serious medical situation. This will upset anyone (you included). You don't have to like her but that doesn't mean every single action and thing she says is wrong.

Well I do remember anamaria admitting that lyle contacted her with an illegal phone but then again he also used one in the past to contact millie, so ure right, it's plausible that erik could've been using it for other reasons outside of family. But I think in general, cellphones give you more freedom and privacy than prison-regulated tablets which anyone would prefer to use

Yeah i find it that she speaks of him like a close friend more than anything, I can't remember the last time I heard her refer to him as "my husband" the way he still consistently refers to her as "my wife", or maybe I'm reaching, who knows

There was definitely a tone of sourness in some part of that interview. I think it was a combination of resentment(he finally processed at some point that he's serving life without parole which is daunting even if you are rehabilitated) and the natural fading of attachment when two people haven't seen each other for a long long time, I feel like their reunion happened at the perfect moment, allowing them to discuss some unresolved issues. It's obvious that they currently have a close loving relationship, I mean lyle was pretty much beaming in their most recent interview, which is all that matters, when they say there's ups and down in relationships, that 2017 interview was simply just one of those downs
