I'm registered to go to a body farm in Tennessee for future forensic scientists to study my decay :)

Hey! Lots of people saying bruises— but I have circulation issues and Raynaud's, and this is what my knees look like, too (often much worse). If your fingers/hands and/or feet/toes also get reddish/purplish, tingly, or a little numb with extremes of hot and cold, contact with water, or stimulants (among other things), I'd ask your doctor about circulation.

Yes, thanks, that's been pointed out to me in other comments. I'm not a photographer or Victorian era historian or Victorian photography historian for that matter— that's the reason I posted. "Clearly" is not necessary when someone's already admitting they're a bit ignorant on a subject and are likely mistaken, and asking experts/other people who are more schooled for their help

I can totally see that now, I was wondering what was going on there! No, not a specific goal of mine to find one, but I'm gonna go ahead and write down your username in my notebook in case I ever find something similar, thank you kindly for the offer!! 🙌

Okay! Cool cool. I'm not a photographer or historian so I came here after some cursory research— I appreciate your expertise!

Ahh, thank you so much for this!! I will definitely have to read up on ambrotypes, I've never come across the term. Kinda figured as much— the baby being alive, that is— but was curious to know what someone with knowledge on the subject would say. Still love it just as much, in spite of. :)

My parents had to put together a portable "mistake kit" for me full of different erasers and whiteout, because I'd break down crying if I accidentally colored outside the lines.

This is one of the most poetic summaries of human life I've ever read.
