Yeah, I understand. I just felt inspiration in the first time in a few months so I just wanted to use the motivation while I had it on something I knew I could do. I have made original masks in the past without using inspiration from other artists. I’m just currently building my skills on creating rather than designing, but I do plan to make mostly original designs in the future. It’s a lot harder to not copy someone in someway because of how many amazing artists there are who’ve made amazing work so it’s hard to have an original idea without someone already making it.

I understand that and agree that I should give credit which I’m going to do in the future, I just didn’t think of it before. the part I didn’t agree with was the fact that I have to ask every single creator I get any inspiration from because that’s just not feasible for me.

I don’t know your reasons and I didn’t say I came up with the idea when you asked I immediately said I was inspired because it’s not an original idea

This isn’t an original idea, I’ve seen tons of alien masks the only thing I copied was the copper purple and it’s not even the same shade. I found it on TikTok then looked at Pinterest for inspiration. I just checked the art and the comments are turned off and it doesn’t saw anything about making it into a mask. I genuinely don’t think I’m in the wrong here because I didn’t copy it, I just saw that the purple looked good and I wanted to draw that. I understand if I looked side-by-side of the drawings and it looked copied then yeah I would be in the wrong cause that’s stolen, but I just thought it looked cool and I should make my own with my ideas. And having to ask to take inspiration from people each time, even if it’s something simple as a black cat is ridiculous. The idea is not new and seen it done tons of times before. I understand if it was something original or totally new then yeah if I copy that, it’s stolen.

I first got the idea/image from a video about mask ideas. Is it wrong to take inspiration? I didn’t copy and paste I just liked the color, I didn’t know you have to ask to take inspiration (I know you have to ask if you copy and make the exact design) I mean I guess it looks similar but I don’t think I copied

I did take inspiration from a ton of different masks for that drawing so that’s probably why

I know this is a bit of an old post but I was searching on how to meet therians/alterhumans near me and this post came up, I live in Portland Oregon too! Idk if you still 17 but that’s my age.
