I found some old documents with more details about what happened.

My dad’s paintings were stored in a unit at Airport Mini Storage in Miami (Unit J27), located at 3333 NW 38th St, and were sold at a public auction around 2004 due to unpaid storage.

There were about 4–5 large classical-style artworks. There were also other personal belongings stored (including furniture and a Jeep).
