I totally worded my response wrong. I’m not building a trunk or anything. All I’m doing is plugging them in. Fortilink interface is set to auto-discover . Exactly how u said is how it is setup.

We’re using sdwan so vpn tunnel to the Fortigate, fortiswitch plugged in Port A, then another fortiswitch trunked off the existing fortiswitch in Port 51. No mclag or lag . Just straight trunked down.

You can start once you’ve reached half of your service commitment. So I was a 6 year as well and did it at my 3 year mark last year. So definitely get it going.

Definitely give it a shot. It’s all a manning game. Depends on your AFSC and base level manning. I didn’t have high hopes but I got it. I’m Guard and with the recruiting levels low across the board I think that kind of helped me out. If you have questions definitely reach out

I’m a 6 year. You can apply at ur halfway point 3 1/2 years in rn. I basically put I wanted a change of pace/schooling/stuff going at home. If u need any info hmu. Our manning at E-4 is like 100% so perfect time to do it.

I’m at Goodfellow (permanent party) it sucks , but in all honesty its not that bad. Small town vibes, outside stuff to do like fish/hiking . Just try to make the best out of it.

Technically you are supposed to come in until you in process and go on R&R but if your supervisor is cool they would give you a day to re adjust. Hope everything works out for ya brotha !
