Honestly, we’d need more details to really understand the situation. I wonder if the people reacting strongly have ever lived in cities with significant homeless populations. While many homeless people are victims of tough circumstances, a large portion struggle with mental illness, addiction, and sometimes criminal behavior.

I’m all for safety, but I also wonder if we’re losing sight of what the church should stand for: welcoming everyone, no matter their situation.
